I wonder how many media types check out this board. I know Bob Mac from TSN was on here for a while.

Oh god.

Sam is great, get off of him. I wish they let him talk more openly on the air, gave his real assessment of the team. He probably knows better then anyone else.

Also, one of the beat writers needs to get an interview with Rammer (thinking about how long Sam has been here made me think about how long Rammer has been here too).

I’m fine with him telling it like it is, but does it really improve the viewing experience to have him point out that the NYR can’t score after
Nearly every failed attempt? Apparently for many here it does. Not me.

I realize that you’re all person friends of the man, so no offense.

Sam and Joe have been probably the only thing I can consistently look forward to on each Rangers broadcast.

Unless I get some crappy Versus feed

Crazy fact about OT wins at MSG, Sam Rosen and a trip down memory lane

Okay I was bored and obviously lack a life so I was thinking of the last time we won an OT game (OT, not shootout) at MSG WITH Sam Rosen on the call?

With help from Lundqvist_Vezina as my research partner, we were able find that the last time Rosen called an OT win at MSG when JD was in the booth! MARK MESSIER NIGHT against the Oilers on 1/12/2006. (Jagr)

We were able to recall such games as Gomez against MTL 12/9/07, Shanny against NJ 12/30/07, and Drury against the Pens on Versus..

Also, this means that Sam and Joe have NEVER called an OT win at MSG while in the booth together

Why the hell was my thread merged?

My thread has nothing to do with this topic...

I guess this board needs the room for more whining about the fact that we can't score goals.

Truthfully, its not that surprising or crazy, OT wins have been rare for most teams since the shootout and all.

But yeah, it'd be nice to hear Sam call an OT win....or any win......

Well done.

Seriously, compared to most other teams we are blessed to have sam and Joe. Even when joe says something dumb you just live with it.

my personal favorite is always, "the teams are really skating tonight,"

I mean enough is enough now, we get it! Do you have to keep harping on it after every missed chance? It's bad enough we've got bear the excruciatingly painful Michelletti who continues to elaborate on the most mundanely obvious facts of Hockey each night.
Maybe he's been reading these boards

um....have you ever actually called a hockey game?

it's called stating the facts...

honestly sam hasn't gone overboard in my opinion...he isn't complaining he is just stating the obvious...

have you? how is that relevant? Sure it's factual, and like I said you can talk about it, just not incessantly.
I guess you and others need to hear it said all game long...
