I agree, every inch does count when it comes to goaltending.

He brought Aebi into it because he's comparing the two of them in terms of rebounds.

However it's simple, in my opinion. The positional strategy that the goaltending coach is teaching is working for Price but not Halak. Halak doesn't look like he's adapting well to it at all and it's affecting his lateral movement and his puck control among other things.

He is not a #1 and will never be. He has one of the worst rebound controls i have ever seen. Besides he is a tad too small.
can I borrow your Crystal ball for a min ? have a lottery to win...

Cause you used the expression ''i have ever seen'' and i told you why you were wrong

Every inch counts but every goalie can adapt to their height

If it was all that matters i don't see why Jason Missiaen wouldnt play right now for us...

Halak has often been bad on rebounds over the years, its his main weakness. It has nothing to do with the goalie coach.

The goalie coach still has a part of responsability, its his job to work on his goalies's weaknesses and fix them

Why do you think Price is pulling his weight now that Melancon is gone?

Just curious.

Having an argument with my wife on who's better between Price and Halak. So I went over to NHL.com to compare this season's stats and... Halak isn't showing up...

What does this mean, exactly? (Not trying to stir up anything, I just want to know).

In that particular case, I think no matter the goalie coach, it's gonna stay his main weakness, that's what I meant. It sure can be fixed to a certain degree, but not completely. Price's main weakness was callousness, something that can be fixed easily with good guidance and time.

You should talk to Gainey about what your wife thinks of Price.

You have his number? I need to tell him that she thinks he has a prejudice towards goaltenders who have a name that starts with "H" and are better then Price.

Meh, we knew this was going to happen. Whether or not you think Halak is better than Price (which he is not), does not mean much in the trade discussion. The Habs drafted Carey 5th overall and they will stick to him no matter what.

Halak reminds me too much of Huet. He has periods of greatness, but too many starts in a row and he fades. He also tends to give up weak goals at weak times.

Good luck to him though.

It's called talent. One has more than the other.

Same thing happened in Ottawa, and Heatley left.
