Honestly . . . at this point Lavi should cancel practice for the Flyers, but make them sit and watch as normal schmucks like us break our ****ing balls to be in their shoes for a practice. Let him even bag skate us, i'm sure most of us would collapse after a few laps, but goddamnit we'd give it our all and we wouldn't even be making a cent to do it. Show those guys what heart really is . . . hell maybe the people impress so much they let us play a game against the pens and while we would be slaughtered, we sure as **** wouldn't just roll over and die after the 5th or 6th goal.
He should make everyone read what we say about them on these forums and also on the Official Flyers forum. Make them read about all we say about them, make it sink in, make them show that they need to do better. Maybe that will motivate them.
“It seems everyone is reluctant to do the right things,” Richards said. “[Monday] night, we had such a great game. It shows it’s there when we’re willing to do it. I’m not too sure.
“Maybe it comes within the guts of the games, the heart of the games and right now, we’re not playing with enough heart to have success. It seems a lot of the mistakes are just mental mistakes.”
Guts and heart.
It was on display in Boston. But not here at the Igloo against the defending Stanley Cup champions, who now hold a 16-point lead on the Flyers in the Atlantic Division.
“It’s really disturbing,” said head coach Peter Laviolette. “You take a small step forward and a big step backwards. We didn’t compete. Their top players came to play. They came to skate, they came to work … We were out-jumped. They had more pop to pucks, more pop to the net. They were more physical on hits. You’re not going to win.”
yea just saw that... oh well there goes my "the team is at least trying to do something about it!" theory.
I'm sure the theory for the Flyers this season is "Work one game, relax the next game". Stupidest players I've seen. Not only inconsistent in points, but also from game to game. Excuses don't make up for their ******** play.
I still think we can and will turn it around, but it sure as hell sucks to watch this team play right now. Tonight there were a lot of things, but you just cannot win when your goaltender lets in that many soft goals
It's hard to win when you're playing your backup on back-to-back games against two top teams in the East and the entire team in front of him, with the exception of a third/fourth-line energy player (who happened to be playing on the top line with PP time) plays as one big piece of collective ****. Never mind the quality of the goals allowed. There's also the fact that we only scored one goal and let many, many chances go away.
