I don't want to file this under rumor, mainly because I can't really reveal my sources, but I'm hearing a lot of chatter that Mueller to the Rangers is very close. What I seem to be hearing the most is that the deal would include Sanguinetti and a pick. Other rumors actually have Higgins to Phoenix and some other piece coming the other way.
As always, things change quickly and I cannot gurantee anything will happen.
But this one has been ongoing and is pretty darn close. Assuming Sather doesn't get fired first.
Interesting. Especially given Brooks' article about Maloney rejecting the deal for Sangs and asking for Callahan or Dubinsky. As well as the fact that Mueller's overall game has been improving by most accounts.
But Kovalcuk is coming over in a epic style deal to the rangers.
I give it a (poe3) on a meter of possibilities
I don't know how that happens without Gaborik going the other way, if for no other reason than contracts/value.
Mueller has a lot of potential, but A LOT of question marks after his last two seasons. It wasn't that long ago that he was in the same conversations as guys like Toews, Staal and Kessel.
But he just looks completely lost. A change of scenery will either do him good, or could be the last action before he ends up bouncing around/getting shipped to the AHL.

I don't want Mueller if it involves Higgins - it's a lateral move that doesn't really improve our forward situation. If it's Sangs and a low (4th or lower) pick. Fine.

Higgins for Mueller is a flat out win for the Rangers.
Although we don't have a 3rd rounder, I could definitely see a Sangs for Mueller swap. I'd have no problem parting with Sanguinetti and a 4th for Mueller.
And guys, I know Edge to be one of the best and most reputable posters here. If he says something might go down, it has a good chance of happening. Unless of course, Edge is just bored
Let me correct myself, Mueller has never scored 30 goals so it's one 20+ goal scorer for another and neither can score this year. Lateral move. Sangs & a pick, yes.
Not really arguing that, but trading a 20 goal scorer with a couple of goals for a 30 goal scorer with one goal is a lateral move at best.
We need more forwards that can put the puck in the net. Period.
Ehh, considering I dont think Higgins is here long-term I still think its a win. Mueller is the type of player that will be around for a long time and he has more value when he picks it back up because he is so young.

It's one of those "but he has upside" trades... yet again.
