They're still playing because most of the benchings have been more related to costly mistakes rather than lack of production. Roszy's put togehter a few very solid games, Drury's still fairly invisible but he's his usual self in terms of 2-way hockey.

When Drury was out this team was noticeably worse when it came to team defense, how quickly everyone forgets though.

I don't want guys like Drury to think that because Kotalik has been getting benched & scratched that he's the reason why the team is losing.

The team is losing because they can't score more than 2 goals a god damn game. The same problem that Renney seemed to have last season when everyone was calling for his head.
Kotalik is the worst even strength player on this team.

Yes, worse than Brashear.

what the hell has Dubinsky done to deserve a letter?

Of the two new scratches, Redden seemed angrier toward Tortorella, saying he was not pleased being “singled out.” “Obviously, he wants to shake things up and obviously I’m an example,” Redden said. “I can deal with it.” At the same time, Redden said this “just lays it all on the table” and said he could react to it in two different ways - one being by complaining and sulking and one by working hard in practice to show he deserves to be back in the lineup. Redden, who could be heard arguing with Tortorella after he saw his name on the scratch list, said he would choose the second option.

Maybe a repost but things are heatin up.

Quote:
Redden, a healthy scratch for the first time this season, felt he was singled out. "I wasn't happy coming in and seeing my name on the scratched list," he said, and a loud, closed-door discussion ensued. "Draw your own conclusions. We haven't gotten things done...Obviously, he wants to shake things up and I'm an example....This kind of lays it all on the table, to be sitting out" said Redden, who addded "I do" when asked if he felt he had more to give. "All I can do is show them I want to be out there and then I've got to deliver. I've got to come back and be ready."
I wish Redden showed that much emotion on the ****ing ice.

Hmmmm cant say im disappointed in Redden's response, shows he has some sort of interest in even being out there. Just maybe this will light a fire under his arse, but then again words are just words.

That's some ****ing emotion. That's a heart beat.

Say what you will about Tortorella. But this is the best thing he's done as coach here. Let's get what we paid for out of these candy *****. The country club should have been closed by now.

I don't keep it a secret that I like Torts and hate the personnel around him. But he should have done this a long time ago. If he could scratch more players, I bet he would. This very well may just be a cycle of players.

So no Chad Johnson in nets tonight? Permit me to strongly disagree on how the goalie situation is handled right now. That's pathetic, Lundqvist will arrive at the Olympics totally worn out.

From the same blog:

Drury:

Quote:
I believe in the guys in here, I believe in what we can do,” Drury said. “Certainly consistency has been an issue. But one thing we can control is how hard we choose to play tonight.
He should start taking his own advice

My goal for tonights game is a lofty one.

I would like to see the Rangers complete two passes (keeping possession) in a row.

This is what my Ranger Fandom has been reduced too.

Also can anyone remember the last big body check thrown by a Ranger D-man?? Cause the hardest hitter I see on the Ranger back end is 19 friggen yrs old..

Isles 4 Rangers 1 The poor team beats the horrible team in this one.

I think what's more pathetic is that you didn't know it was a joke.

So the Rangers in desperate need of a win should scratch Hank because he may/will be tired playing for Sweden in the Olympics??

He's the only person on this team who has some snarl and bite to his game. He carries the puck really well and we're starting to watch him blossom.

If he's our future captain (which im sure im not alone in believing), **** it, give it to him now. It'll never happen, I know, but I cant think of anyone whos more deserving than Dubi or Hank to have the C (and Hank cant wear it on his jersey) at this moment.

What the hell, Torts? Redden and Kotalik is the big shake up? Give me a break. Bench that loser Drury for crying out loud. And Redden? Guy's been our best d-man all season and he becomes the whipping boy on defense? Rozsival and Drury should be sitting. **** you, Torts.

I think it's more if he's worn out by February, then how the hell is he going to look for us after he returns from winning another gold medal?

Or Cerny is a closet Die-hard Sweden fan who just got outed by his own mistake.

After the Olympics there'll be still 20 games to play. The way the staff is handling this situation is a pure joke. We'll be lucky if Henrik is not injured before spring.

With the article in the local paper up here folks are getting excited to see Johnson play tonight….. There’s going to be a few disappointed folks in Fairbanks.

Any chance torts will change his mind and start Johnson?

I’m glad to see Voros dress tonight…. At least the folks tuning in up here to see Johnson will be able to see one former Fairbanks player (Voros)……..

sorry to invade but weren't most of you saying how much this team was hurting when Redden was injured? He is overpaid but IMO he should not be the one to sit for your team. I have a bad feeling and don't see the rangers playing that bad again. I think Drury will get a goal and so will duby but this is coming from a negative Islander fan.

oh, well let's definitely hand him the C then. Sounds like he's got Jam.

I can't believe the amount of people around here that genuinely think changing who wears the "C" is actually going to make this team better.
