no from Toronto, giving up too much and oilers have enough offensive D-man.

Alot of people are fading on O'Sullivan in Edmonton but I still think he has alot of potential to be a 20 goal 50 point guy consistently. So my opinion on this is no deal especially since we have a fair amount of offensive D already and I dont want any part of Lee Stempniak..

I dont think Toronto does it either but with the U.S connection of Burke and O'Sully I can see Toronto being a team interested in him, I think he'd be a good fit too.

I'd much rather have White then POS and Stemps for a 3rd is a bit of a toss up but we want to make the playoffs so I don't Stemps being traded unless we get something better back.

o'sullivan is struggling now, but he has unreal potential which i think will be realized very soon. if he could hit the back of the net with all the opportunities he gets, he would have 5 times the goals he has now. he just needs to work on his shot. also, stempniak is dust.

first time in history I say this

Overpayment from the leafs.

however

flag gets raised by oilers and their fans over the fact that Lee S is a UFA after this season and that is where you lose the oilers

White for POS does not mkae sense for the oilers

no if we are dumping stempniak we arent using a player like white with the dump lol, which begs the question why add stempniak into any trade that isnt gonna be salary dump basically.

For Gagner.. nothing on the leafs roster other than Kessel interests.. For Cogliano.. if you'd be willing to take back a bit of salary in someone like Moreau than maybe Ponikarovski?

The fact that Lee S is UFA makes it a great selling point for the Oilers. They need the cap space.

I'm always a bit surprised that Moreau is so unpopular with Oilers fans. I'd love to see him on the Leafs, perfect third line player. He's just a bit overpaid, but that's nothing new in Toronto.

As far as the offer goes, we can't lose our only top six player with size right now. That just isn't going to work.

No

POS does not have that much of a cap hit

if the leafs want POS--second rounder and white for POS and a 4th

Done in a heartbeat...except the Oilers would have to line-up a d-man to trade, and I'm guessing it would be Staios for a mid-level pick or mid-round draft pick.

Sorry... I don't see either of the proposals in this thread as being useful to either team.

Ian White is the Leafs' best all-round D-man and should not be tradee, especially not now. In fact, I think that he should be re-signed to a reasonable deal.

I'm not even sure if POS is an upgrade over Stempniak. Despite my desire to get rid of Stempniak, I just don't think that POS is the answer.

The fact is, though, that the Leafs just can't take on any more cap-hit right now which is what they would have to do in order to have either of these proposals come to fruition

Toronto way overpays in the OP. White, despite his GV's, is a solid dman with some offensive upside. You know what you are getting. Stempniak, for those who actually watch Leaf games, has been playing very well recently. He hits, fore-checks well and is a good PKer. You know what you are getting.

O'Sullivan has been a dissappointment. He might have some potential but we all know what having potential means. A 3rd rounder? Yea.

O'Sullivan is a half ass dangler that doesn't produce or play defence.

Stempniak is over payed but at least in the last year of his deal and over the last month has found a home on a checking line and playing a decent role. Not that I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN RESIGNING him at anywhere near the money he gets this year.

White is a better D then given credit for around here and if the Leafs don't sign him the list waiting for him will be long. IMO keep him.

Garbage proposal

It's interesting that it's the Eastern Conference fans who constantly perpetuate this myth even though they rarely see him play.
