Ya cant scout players based on numbers only.
I watched Hossa up close & personal for more than 2 seasons, I saw him in every role possible, he barly excelled as a 4th liner. He was Terrible in his own zone, did noy use his big body enough to knock people off pucks or to shield it away.

He as decent is the corners but shyed away from contact in may instances.

He is what he is, & he is playing where he should be playing.

If you think Hossa did not engage in the corners, than i would like you to give your evaluation of the guys on the current roster. Only Cally, Duby, and sometimes Avery engage and use there body on a nightly basis. Its pathetic. Also how could you say he was terrible in hiz own zone, he was definetely solid, the guy was a plus player for most of his career.

Yay for him he is leading the KHL in goals, which translate to 4 maybe 5 in the NHL during the same amount of time. Hossa was a load of **** when he was here. Anyone who thinks Renney did not give him a fair shake need to have there heads examined & there eyes checked.

Yeah, Guess HF needs a new tag... "IRONY:"

Just putting it out there for people to comment on if they're compelled to is all... Not saying he should ever come back...

Why lock the thread ? Keeping you from completing the Rangers All-Decade Equipment Manager poll ?

I'm not surprised by this. Marcel has talent he just couldnt put it all together. At times he'd show glimpses of his potential but then he'd stop scoring again.

What did you think of him when he wasn't playing like he could?

I watched many games with Hossa playing, some of them thinking we had a diamond in the rough. This guy simply looked like he had other more important things to do that tday.

Basically, he turned out to be a lump of coal that looked shiny when the light hit just right.

Listen, I'm only gonna say this one time & one time only. There is no need for such a poll, everyone knows that Acacio Marques is the BEST equipment manager the NYR have ever had. Hands down, end of thread. That is all.

I said Hossa was decent in the corners. which means some times he was & some times he was not. He was not great defensivly.

You think the best players in the KHL can only have 4 - 5 goals up to this point in the season in the NHL? Shows what little you think of the KHL. It doesn't surprise me at all. There were times where Hossa looked awful. There were times where he was downright dominant. He's probably be playing the latter of which in the KHL. Hossa had a lot of potential. Maybe he is finally putting it to use.

Didn't no one playing well on that wing in the first place lead to Hossa playing there?

I think what lead to him playing there was an Injury to Straka, who was one of my favorite Rangers of all time, Top 10 for me! The guy was a player.

I didn't.

"Some" is the grammatical subject of the sentence, and for those who didn't understand that, I was kind enough to specifically close the post with "cherepanovfans."

So if you wanted to address the actual post, you should have written: "Not really sure why you brought fans up."

Sigh, all our problems can be solved with 3 players.

Daniel Goneau, Bruce Driver, and Christian Dube.

And we should really see what Rumun Ndur is up these days.

Gionta and Cheechoo have won the scoring title in the NHL. Stats don't say much...
