Weren't the Baby Habs playing in Adirondack yesterday?

If I'm not mistaken, that's like 2 hours from New York. No big deal really.

That's what I came here to post.

But this is weird, bad asset management on the team's part. Or, just maybe...

gainey was apparently at the hamilton game yesterday so maybe he was checking out who to plug in instead of BGL?

Quite possible.

Might we see Greg Stewart back in the lineup?

Well I will bet on a habs win now.
Any line up even with not enough guys dressed is better without the slug BGL

I'd have one of Desharnais-Maxwell-Glumac or Darche. I mean it's not like they'll be playing a lot anyway.

Or have Eric Nielsen in the lineup just for the fun part of it....

Maybe Hammer will dress and they'll play another D at forward in case something goes wrong?

I mean, not playing Laraque can only be viewed as a good thing, he gets shelled out there. But there seems to be little reason not to dress him unless you replace him with someone.

I'd figure they'll call Stewart before any of them. We lack muscle and he's played a very strong game yesterday.

Well it's not like his minutes can't be eaten up with absolute ease by someone WAY more valuable. He hasn't played more than 5 minutes in a long while now and hasn't shown that he deserves more than that. I think they will obviously call someone up or do something in order to have a full roster tonight.

EDIT: If each forward plays an average of 20 more seconds tonight Laraque's contribution is already accounted for (assuming 4 minutes for BGL which may be generous)

While Darche's misses some NHL speed, it would be fun to see him have some time with Gomez and Kostitsyn. The guy is a sniper. But he's not the fastest that's for sure. Gomez could take care of the speed, Darche would take of what both Kosty and Gomez will throw at him. Not saying he's THE solution 'cause if so, he'd be here, but I'd feel better to think that we tried him there and put Lapierre where he belonged instead of adding another 4th liner grinder...

I like the idea of adding someone with some skill tonight on the second and dropping Lappy because he is contributing very little to that line. Throw someone with a good shot/decent speed on that line and see how it goes.

I hope not. Darche is a good AHL scorer, but he was in the top 6 with the Bolts in 07-08 and boy was that brutal. Poor Brad Richards.

I have to think they'll give Sergeï and D'Ags another shot (more Matt than Sergeï) on the second line. Only 1 game together, it'd be a bit unfair to look elsewhere so soon.

Stewart had his best game of the season last night.

Bof, we're just better without him even with a player less in the lineup.

Maybe Bob wants to see what Trotter or Desharnais can do on a 2nd line.

Hopefully he was traded for a pylon. At least the Habs could position the pylon on the blueline, it would cover defencemen better than him.
