Jackman tried to kick at the puck to block it standing 5 feet away from Conklin when the shot was going 3 feet wide. It was a stupid play. No defense.

Jackman and Polak run all around the defensive zone leaving the front of the net wide open all the time. Someone has to stay in front of the net. Polak was on for all 3 goals against, Jackman 2.

Don't worry about their +/- now. Jackman got a nice head start on +/- during the Vancouver game earlier this year (+3). History over the past couple years will tell you it will come back down. He's -5 in his last 5 games. I'm sure the trend will continue.

Not sure Jackman was out of position, but the shot WAS going wide before it hit him. It was the type of goal that really sucks to give up.

I don't think this play was the difference in the game. I think its more a combination of 1) as much as I hate to admit it...the Blackhawks are really good and 2) the Blues aren't.

This game more than any other this season has shown me how far the Blues have to go. I sure hope Chicago doesn't win a Cup this year, but they are pretty strong contenders. I think they're the class of the West right now. They'll overtake LA before long.

Would I have rather seen Jackman move out of the way...sure, but By the logic your employing, no one should block shots or clear the net.... they would be screening the goalie.

Funny how the teams that allow the fewest goals in the league block a decent amount of shots.

By the way who would you suggest has played better defense than Jackman on our team?

Easy Lad,

Judging by the ignorance in your post I am assuming you read that post after the image was no longer visible. I fixed the image, why don't you reread the post, and choose a better argument, while I go look for some glasses.

Fans bag on Jackman was too much. If Brewer is not playing he becomes the new whipping boy. besides EJ, he would be my first choice to put on the ice in critical situations. He is usually good positionally and has much more grit than anyone else on our blue line. Why are we complaining about our defense? They have played very good most the season along with our goal tending. If anything we should be complaining about our offense or lack of.

Jackman and Polak are now a combined -15 in our last 6 games. They have not played well lately at all, and it isn't just the top lines that are scoring against them. In reference to the thread title, Jackman needs to raise his intensity in the games.
