The most nerve wracking game of the year I'd say. Klein and Hamhuis are HORRIBLE together.

Two heaping helpings of luck + timely pressure on their D + one good line + solid goalie play - 6 boneheaded Defenseman= one win against the Flames today.

Not the recipe for long term success though.

Erat is playing like he did at the end of 06-07 before his injury. This was the Erat that warranted the huge contract extension. The fear at the time was he would revert to the Erat of the beginning of this season.....the hope that he would play as he is now. He is playing incredible hockey right now.....wow....

hammer needs to buy ellis a beer or three after that steaming pile.

always good to get 2 on the road against a division leader.

now if arny isn't seeing double and we can get more points from the nucks this will be a great roadie.

Exactly, this is the Erat I really used to like as a player. He could stickhandle in a phonebooth, weave thru traffic, his shot had eyes, and he had a good sense of when to pass vs shoot. We are finnaly seeing that again. When on his game this is what you saw. If he can continue to play like this it bodes well for the team, as long as others can continue chipping in. I had almost written this one off as the Flames seemed to have our number of late-- glad to get the two points.

At what point do the hockey writers actually notice how hot our team is? I mean, I know they would rather continue their obsession with the Flyer freefall, the Chicago love affair, their Shark/Detroit/Ranger/Phoenix/Buffalo/Dallas storylines, but there OTHER stories in the league, you know. The Preds' stellar play in Nov/Dec has thusfar gone unnoticed. Not that I mind so much, the team plays better without press clippings to read, but they do deserve some recognition for an outstanding stretch of hockey.

no. late scratch with the ever specific, upper body injury. we are hoping it is not post-concusion issues.

So I was looking to see who the three stars were because I couldnt watch Preds live, and I didnt realize Goc had 3 points. Its nice to see when Arny is out with an injury someone stepped up. Though hopefully he comes back VERY soon.

Im also excited about the future, but some of our centers need to be wingers here in Nashville, Spaling has looked like a great 3rd line center in the making.

Just think about all the things we'll be able to do when we're not wasting 2.5 million dollars on Hamhuis anymore!

Wow, Goc with 6pts in his last 3 games, already more points than last year, and beaten his goal total in each of the last 3 seasons.

I"m not sure it really is, though. This is two seasons in a row that he's been mediocre, and he's going to be looking for 3.5 to 4 million.

Can you justify that, knowing what holes we have on offense, and knowing Pekka needs to be re-signed? I can't. I can hardly justify his current salary. He's not just not playing well, he's hurting the team, and has been for a while.

No kidding. The way he's playing, he'll be lucky to get that much on the open market.

Passing in front of the net isn't the problem....holding the puck too long while trying to skate it out of the zone as apposed to chipping it out is.

Yeah, Hamhuis has been over-rated pretty much his entire career. Nowhere near the #2 dman that people make him out to be. I still hold that we should've traded him for a forward a some point. Yeah, it would've created a hole, but we could've picked up a medoicre vet to pick up his slack. Yeah, I did say medoicre vet.

That opportunity may have already passed us by, and we could be losing him for nothing at the end of this year.
