Really? Is he caught out of position due to this?

yeah but our team has been scoring a lot lately, it hasn't been a problem as of late, so getting rid of repik to bring some physicality to our team when we are in the verge of facing a very tough team is very logical and makes a lot of sense and is not as bad as you make out

Usually he makes these forays out of the zone trying to skate through everyone and ends up turning it over. He also doesn't use his size to his advantage.

Now don't get me wrong, I think he'll be an NHL defenseman, but he has a ways to go.

OK.

Makes more sense to keep up a gritty guy in Repik than it does to bring up a guy in Duco who has shown poor judgement in such things as coming off the bench to go after a guy after a clean and not very hard hit.

It's a streak. If we can continue averaging 4.6 goals/game I'll be impressed, but it's not going to happen. Last night we scored 2 goals. Let's not overrate ourselves.

K, thanks for the update. Sounds like Bouw with his not using his size. Just needs to learn to calm down a bit, apparently. Garrison has looked good in his stint up here, imo. Timid, but he's done well.

Ellerby is still not that big though. He's 6'4" but only around 200 lbs. Idk if it's him not using his size to his advantage as much as just not being that strong yet. He certainly doesn't back away from physical confrontations. He hits when the hit is there.

Like you said he hit's when it's there, but the issue is that he's not able to hold his ground and not able to keep opposing teams from the front of the net.

Well, so much for my suggesting that PDB would not bring up Mac. Great hockey mind that I've got an all.

So why do it?

1. Keep Philly honest.
2. Prevent Philly from trying to take out more of our players with cheap shots.
3. Take revenge (if we're either up or down a significant amount)

4. Oh yeah--win the game. Philly's tougher. We're faster.

Not sure I am crazy about this decision. Would have really liked Repik to stay up, in place of Duco too. I like Duco and all, but we could really use Repik's scoring touch on the bottom six.

Well, he has to know how to use Big Mac. That's why I wasn't overly excited when we got MacIntyre. I love having a monster like him, but he's not the type that DeBoer feels comfortable with, not game in game out, not even for more than a couple minutes a game. That's why I said we should look into a guy like Janssen or at worst someone like Lappy, both who can keep up with the play and can fight.

While I believe Mac is needed for this game and it's games like this why we have him, if DeBoer doesn't roll out 4 lines and play him more than a minute, it can hurt us. That's a problem, and it's not Mac's.

True, at the same time, Mac took care of Brashear and Orr, neither of them flyweights. Just having him on the ice has to help somewhat. It would be better if we were playing at home, though, because then we could send him out whenever needed (having the last change).

Either way, it's going to be a rocking game on Monday!

Which is why I wanted someone like Janssen, who can keep up and is a great fighter. Oh, and he hits everything. I'm obviously a huge fan of the enforcer and believe without a doubt that they're needed,. but I also have said and believe that like every player on the team, you need to have one that fits what system you employ. Our's is a speed system mostly, so it doesn't help having a guy who's not on the faster side.

that said, I haven't seen MacIntryre still at the red line when the play moves into the zone, he's kept up.

If there's one thing I was liking about Repik's game it was the fact that he was hitting just about everything. So sending him down couldn't have had much to do with a lack of physical play, which we will need tomorrow night.

Whatever, I like Duco...but I, too, disagree with this current move.

Also, why are we sending Taffe down too? Is Kreps coming back tomorrow or something?

Taffe's down too. I agree about Repik. I can see why they brought Duco up too, he'll be a pest and buzz in their ears. But Repik should have stayed. He's the future, not Kreps.

Kreps is soooo 2008 (and it's 2009).

Looks like Mac is taking his spot, dunno if Rochester has a game or a few that he can play in the meantime, which would justify the move.

yeah the last action by Duco was not very smart, but it's illogical to think that's what he will do every game...i'm sure his role will be explained very clearly by pdb, in any case it's done, and the management thought it was the best idea

of course we are not going to average 4.6 goals/game, no team does, but at least we are getting the goals, and distributing the scoring very well, actually i can't even remember when's the last time we got shutout?

We sent 3 guys down though, and only called up 2. I think Kreps is coming back tomorrow, and he's taking the spot...for someone.

Them bringing up Duco and sending down Repik, who has clearly earned a better and longer look in the NHL. Sorry. To me, it lends a bit to Great8cam's talk of DeBoer not liking Repik, and bringing up one of his boys. Who's shown poor decision making skills in his time here. Don't get me wrong, I like Duco and think he'll be a good addition in the future, but I think he needs to be down in the A for the remainder of this season.

The other guy we sent was Ellerby, who didn't have a roster spot.
