Which skates to buy. Easton S5 or S9..

Hey guys

I needed some help. I just started skating last year, and I'm still pretty bad at it, however I'm going to start skating about 3 times a week and play shiny atleast once a week. I currently own a pair od Easton Ultra lite's, however these skates are too tight on me, as they have given me blisters. I wanted to get new skates, and I was looking at these two pairs.

Easton S5, and Easton S9.

I'm willing to spend 300 for good pair of skates. I'm not playing any competitive hockey, and durability is a big thing for me, as I want them to last me few years.

So please enlighten me on which of these gorgeous pair I should purchase.

Thanks a lot in advance.

regards,

BuppY

If you can afford to go up to the SE10 or S12, those are much better skates.

But before you do, try having the Ultralites baked. That will probably help, and they may be better skates then what you'd be getting.

But the biggest thing is make sure the skate fits. Go to a store and try them on before you buy.

If your Ultralites don't fit well, why are you certain you want another pair of Eastons? $300 will buy you reasonably good skates but definitely check out your LHS and have someone competent fit you.

Then you probably don't want to get another pair of eastons.

And if you go by look, you will end up with crappy ill fitting skates that still give you blisters. Don't. Get fitted for skates that fit and buy something decent instead of crap that looks shiny.

Your reasoning doesn't make a lot of sense. You currently own Eastons that don't fit you properly, so you want another pair of Eastons, but won't upgrade to a decent mid-level skate because of the way it looks?

Obviously, do what you want...but when you limit your options based on stuff like that, you run a pretty high chance of being unhappy with your skates.
