You also didnt even include Coburn on defense, who would automatically become one of our best defensemen.

Like I said, Philly laughs at giving up, by far, the two best players in the deal for a decent center and a load of crap we're looking to unload.

Just to add, I think the Carter rumor is total crap. I see no reason why Philly would want to unload him.
Yeah carter is so amazing that philly is shopping him.

Like I said, I dont believe that report for one second.

I guess you think 46 goal scorers not even in their mid-20's grow on trees? If you're too lazy to follow just how good Carter is, all you had to do was watch the game on Saturday and he showed you. He was the best player on the ice besides Lundqvist.

Because there is hanky panky with Carter involved with a teammate's wife. That is why they are willing to move him.

Dont forget 1/3rd of the Czech line, Jan Hlavac...and the immortal Pavel Brendl (#4 overall in the 1999 draft for all of you so interested in tanking )

Ha? Is that the rumor?

I remember a similar rumor involving Lindros and Brind'amour years ago.

What do they put in the water down there in Philly?

Also keep in mind folks that there were rumors that there is a player/players that are causing unrest and division in the locker room in Philly. I can't cite the source, I just remember reading it in my travels of surfing HF the last few days. Are there any Philly fans reading this that can confirm?

Perhaps Carter is the one causing problems in the locker room if these rumors are true, and Holmgren is trying to bring about a change of culture by trading the culprit.

I don't see anyway the flyers will trade carter, but if they want to deal him your trade him for best offer, where doesn't matter

If carter is on the table... and thats a huge if, I would throw the house for him
dubinsky
gilroy
higgins
and a draft pick

I think that is a decent start, but carter is the secondary scorer we badly need

It's not the water, it's the hot chicks bending over at the water fountain that causes the issues.

But, the Lindros-Brindy thing was true. This current rumor seems to just be a rumor and has been denied by Riley Cote, for what it's worth.

Lecavalier will never happen as long as Tortarella is here, and I'm glad. Screw that contract.

No way they trade Carter within the division, even if they would, we don't have the means to get him.

Selanne? Doesn't fit at all.

maybe not the house but you will need a center correct? dubinsky is our best center right now and the most proven unless you want a 7 million dollar contract in drury? you could have anisimov but not nearly as proven as dubinsky... your call

gilroy may not be as offensively gifted right now as del zotto, but he is bigger and still learning the position, in a year or two he may be just as good and he can score some goals whereas del zotto is a play maker, great passer but i doubt we can expect to see more than 10 to 15 goals where i see gilroy being able to create plays, score goals, and being a solid 1st to 2nd pair defensemen IMO

Higgins is the throw in soon to be ufa who would be a 3rd liner for the flyers and work his butt off, while not being counted on to score goals with gagne, briere, richards etc

and a mid pick... thats a pretty decent offer, I don't see how a staal or callahan fills a need for your team, as far as big mean defensemen you have pronger, coburn, and parent, and callahan is a winger you need a center

the only player who is untouchable is lundqvist... maybe a house offer would include a 1st round pick, my bad, but not a lowball offer

I beg to differ. Sather has had his ways of getting trades within the division, especially with the Flyers and Devils. Although most of them have been complete busts. Getting Carter would make me give Sather .0005 of a brownie point.

Carter is very good and would love him on Rangers but it'll take alot to get him. LeCavs contract is awful and we shouldnt have any interest in Selanne as he does nothing for us.

  1. Carter is basically an impossibility within the division. Plus the cost would be too high.
  2. Lecaviler's contract is dreadful.
  3. Selanne depending on the price, which shouldn't be much. I think he'd be good for Artie.

I agree, I can definitely see Slats making a deal for a rental of Selanne. This would add some secondary scoring.

Does it instantly make us cup contenders? No. But neither did Nik Antropov.

Okay, here's the thing:

Yes, most of you are probably undervaluing Jeff Carter. While despising Philadelphia, I have watched numerous games just for being a fan of his play and he is definitely some kind of special, young talent that you could really help set a team in stone with.

People are saying there is no way Philadelphia trades within the division, and 3/4 of you are just playing sheep. The 1/4 probably don't mean it literally, it's more like it is slightly unrealistic to happen. They wouldn't simply say "no, it's the Rangers". They would instead use the divisional thing as a bargaining chip to drive the price up even higher. Take a second to let that sink in, and then realize that with Sather, it could definitely happen, and it would probably be a big punch in the balls.

But don't just say it could never happen, because it most certainly could.

Doesnt they have a big dicplinary issue in Philly? Lots of partying going on with Carter, Richards among others says the rumors.

Broadway is proven not to be a good place for rehab. No thanks to Carter.

I'm not involved in Gossip stuff, but I heard it was Scott Hartnell's wife, Lisa.

It was a fake rumor started by a blogger. Carter and another person named in the rumor are taking legal action against the blogger.

NYR only lands Carter with Lundqvist going the other way.
