Michalek - Thornton - Cheechoo
Sturm - Marleau - Nolan
Ekman - Damphousse - Setoguchi
Korolyuk - Ricci - Grier?

Hannan - Ehrhoff
Boyle - Vlasic
Preissing - McLaren

Nabokov
Toskala

These are almost off the top of my head, and I haven't looked at others...so I'm sure I'm missing a few important ones. I DO have a feeling we've been pretty depleted at the RW position throughout the decade, though.

EDIT: Just looked at everyone else's...what's with the Ehrhoff snubs? I'm not sure we have a defenseman who played in more games for us than he had this decade, and he was one of our top point-producing d-men each year.

Thornton - Ricci - Sundström

Boyle - Lukowich
Ehrhoff - Blake

Got fancy with the Sturm - Pavelski - Setoguchi line. Every other line and defensive pairing, and goaltending tandem, had great, solid times for the team.

Sorry about including Campbell.

Anyone including Guerin needs to turn in their... uh... hatred for Chris Pronger. He had zero points in the playoffs with us that year. No rentals, thanks.

If you were putting a whole team together, the starting lineup should probably be this year's top line, because the chemistry they're having would probably make it a waste to put Nolan up there. But if you just want the best possible top line, it's got to be Nolan / Thornton / and then Heatley, Selanne, Cheechoo, or Marleau, take your pick.

For the depth team though:
Heatley Thornton Marleau
Selanne Damphousse Nolan

what a fantastic one-two punch. We'd score 6 goals per game.

Why so many picks for Selanne? He was garbage in teal, 3 seasons, 63G 67A -16 compared to many 90+ point seasons with the Ducks (both before and after the Sharks). His only minus years (in terms of +/-) were in teal, except for his shortened year with the Ducks when he was traded here.

If we're basing our team based on the player's career performance, rather than their performance in San Jose, I think we'd all have very different teams.

I actually really like that line-up, without thinking too hard, I think I'd go with the same thing.

That's why I was shocked people were picking him instead of heater. We have heatley until WE trade him, and while I don't expect 63-67 from him this year, I will personally kill him if he doesn't get at least that in two.... It's totally reasonable to expect more from him in the time we know we have him, than Selanne ever did.

last time i checked, as bad as he was compared to his pesonal best seasons he still put up better numbers than any shark..

he was a mile better in SJ than he was in Colorodo

the yr SJ went to game 7 against Colorodo, yes he did miss his wrap chance but still had 8 points in 12 playoff games. not like he was anywhere near bad in teal

Marleau-Thornton-Nolan
Michalek-Damphousse-Sturm
Thornton-Ricci-Sundstrom
Nieminen-Smith-Harvey (I like energy guys and role players on the 4th)

Boyle-Suter
Blake-Ehrhoff
Hannan-Stuart

Nabby and Toskala

Shelley, Parker, and Murray the extras in case we need to throw in a tough guy. lol This is obviously not the best players in terms of talent. But creating a team to win, this is what I would go with.
