Pouliot looked great tonight. His stickhandling and his speed were well showcased and aside from that nasty turnover at the Canadiens blueline, he was pretty good.

Well, in a way he's got a point. You want to get a top 6 forward, Halak ain't gonna get you that. Imagine Price and the two ****, that might be enough for a big gun, but it's not gonna happen.

We should bench Gomez for a few shifts every game if he produces assists like today. Good trade off.

I don't get it. We flipped ten players over the summer and we're still giving up 40+ shots per game last season. What's causing this?

With the current clip A.K is producing at, I think it's pretty silly to trade him.

It's still early, but unless the return was 100% golden, I don't think I make a move.

IMO, it's not the amount of shots we give, it's the quality. I find this year, the shots we're giving aren't usually quality oppertunities and the goalies can see them. I don't care if they give up 100 shots, as long as they aren't quality scoring oppertunities.

What i meant was.. after a 3 goal lead.. the team stop attacking.. they just dump the puck and play in the defensize zone..

You have to cut them a break how many 3 goal leads have they got to play with this year?

Exactly. This ''defensive collapse'' style of play makes that we get stuck in our own zone and don't attack a lot, but even if the other team shoots they're usually low percentage shots from the outside. Honestly after 2 periods I couldn't even believe that we already allowed 32 shots. How many of these were weak shots that made their way to Halak slowly?
The only time that Carolina got golden scoring opportunities, it was on their 2 man advantage in the 2nd.

thats exactly what pitshburgh did. the `rush` part of my post meant giveaways/forced give aways, wich is very similar to what martin is doing here. which is why we will almost always be shot on more then we will.
