Has to be a young goalie that has the number 1 position thats playing behind a good team and thats if they want a chance to break it. Maybe Fleury. I dont think anyone on the list can break it to be honest.
Brodeur wouldn't have such a massive shutout record if it wasn't for the dead puck era. I don't think any of the players listed are playing at the right time to break the record, however MAF and Miller have the skill too. Bad timing tho.
If you want to look at current stars, it seems Luongo is the only one statistically in range. Nabokov still doesn't have half as many as Brodeur and he's 34, lol. Luongo isn't quite on pace to beat Brodeur but he has an outside chance. It's going to be hard to ever get the right mix of trap team + defensive era + great goaltender + goaltender with so many starts again.
