Since it's the holiday season

Since it's the holiday season, thought of this.

A little backround. Islanders are playing the flyers at the nassau collesieum and in order to try to sell some tickets they gave the first 1,000 people dressed as santas free entry to the game and then brought them out on the ice during intermission. Look who crashed the party

well gordon pulled a torts and publicly got on taveras and okposo about their lack of scoring. expect okposo to break out of his slump tonight and taveras to finally score an even strength, non tap in, goal.
NYR better come ready to play

nyi 3-1, richard park game willing goal, shorthanded.

No. Saying they have not scored when he was asked about their lack of scoring is not getting on them. What is he supposed to do lie and pretend they score all the time?

WE need to win this one. a 5game win streak will do wonders for us in the standings. We need to have an effective PP if we want to win. There will be A LOT of powerplays in this game.

Its probally just me but I think Avery should play on the top line. I don't think they have tried it yet.

Johnson won't see any action before 2010... Maybe on New Years Eve, but I doubt it.

Why? Who plays their backup goalie when their starter is a superstar on the top of his game. Your right about how Johnson should be in the AHL getting ice time but you also forget he is getting a lot of practice with NHL players instead of AHL players. Regardless, im not willing to give up 2 points so Johnson gets his NHL game. MAybe after the olympic break...

And you especially don't start your backup when the starter is a big reason why we are winning these games. I don't think we've played as well as some others believe. The intensity is there, but we still allow way too many shots and chances to look comfortable with a backup in net.

It's not as terrible as before, the number of quality scoring chances allowed have thankfully declined, but not the shot count. We implode for a period each game and Hank has saved us every time now for about 10 games. I'm not sure it's such a good idea to throw Johnson into the furnace just yet.

But I agree with sitting Johnson on the bench isn't a good situation either, he needs to play, even if just being the backup in NHL for a stretch might be educational, as long as that stretch isn't too long. Waiving Valiquette was a terrible idea, it was not his fault the team was in total meltdown mode in front of him.

Sure, Valiquette struggled, but so did Hank. Any goalie would've had a hard time keeping their composture in front of the kindergarden we witnessed. Blaming the struggles we've had on the goalies is ridiculous.

Hank is playing great now, because the team is performing at least well enough defensively so that he feels he can do his job.

Gotta keep the pressure on at home tonight.

Can't slip up here because theres another 4 big games left in this homestand. I think the perfect opponent for the Rangers right now at home is the Islanders, considering it was them that forced them to hit what i thought was rock bottom for the season. It will be interesting to see how they come out for this one. Lets hope they didnt party too hard last night and want to give a nice present to their fans the night after Christmas... a nice 5 game winning streak.

I want to see Avery build on his last game and get more shots. It seems like the Rangers are scoring goals when he is in the other goalies face throughout the game. They have to keep that up. I'd also like to see more of the defense getting involved creeping down from the point and getting more shots away, but they've been holding their own in the defensive zone lately so i wouldnt ask for too much of that.

Still waiting for Higgins to get that big goal. Maybe 2009 was just a terrible year for him, with the injury and this uncharacteristic slump. Hes still working his tail off and still gets his chances. Maybe he can bury one or two before the year is out and he can turn the page into a better 2010.
