Yes I know that his shoulder is messed up to pop out 2x in a month. This harness would serve a different role though so the entire team can get one to cut down on (phantom) high sticks, slashes and cross checks instead of holding Betts' shoulder in place. Maybe we just have to trust the PK will get back in shape as that game last week versus the Florida Panthers was a horrible display of penalty killing mixed in with skilled (lucky) bounce tip-ins.
Yeah, I'm thinking that they just used the opportunity to give him a rest which was due. If it's the playoffs no goalie would sit because of that. I think the cut would just have re-opened constantly and need to be stitched between periods, which would be too annoying for a regular season game.
The conversation between him and Lappy could have been epic:
Lappy: So... I hear your sitting out, buddy.
Boosh: Yeah, I have a small cut on my finger.
Lappy: Yeah, cuts suck. I remember that one time when I had to get 80 stitches and lost 7 teeth and then didn't miss any playing time at all. How many stitches did you need?
