im waiting for the day that seto truly returns to form and starts having more of an offensive impact. lately he hasnt been making very smart choices or getting many scoring chances (partly attributed to being off top line).
Still, i miss (old)seto and sometimes i wish he would start making his presence felt more so that our 2nd line was a bit more legitimate in the scoring department.
Gooch needs more time with Thornton. Get the Heatley/Thorton/Goochi line going again. Marleau was still killing it on the second line when he was playing there.
he will get it back, I actually like him on the third line. He had it easy coming into the league. Id let him get pp time but let him play his way up. He has enough assets that he should be able to create his own scoring chances without a top tier center.
Same as one2gamble...I don't mind Seto having to work/earn his way back up to the top 6. He will. This will give DW a good read on his real value - real deal or did Jumbo make him?
If Seto doesn't start producing away from Jumbo, then his new deal should be less than we've speculated - certainly, less than Kessel's. At this rate, I'd say a 3-4 yr deal w/ a 3.75m cap hit.
He'd probably do better playing with someone who can actually match his speed. Unfortunately, the only other fast player with some offensive touch on the team is Patty.

ginny is plenty fast
so is mitchell
manny isnt slow
nichol isnt slow
Hes got no excuse. He needs to start producing. So does Mitchell for that matter

And except maybe McGinn none of those guys are gonna help anyone score on offense. Mitchell and Nichol are pretty clearly defensive guys (no matter what people like to imagine about Mitchell, he has not shown any sort of evidence to expect him to "produce"), Manny might be able to score points, but he hasn't ever consistently, and McGinn is a rookie who is still a bit of an unknown. Seto ought to be playing with a Marleau or Michalek, around one of our good centers (kinda like last year) to score at the rate we hope for.
Seto will be back in top form soon enough; he's just gotta find his rhythm and confidence. It's going to happen, everyone's just gotta have a little patience.
you don't get it... talent just goes away and never comes back. Especially from 22 year olds.
im not saying his talent is gone. im just saying he has lost a bit of his mojo, so to speak. and quite frankly we need seto to start producing.
id say hes had ample time to get his "game" back and get back into the swing of things. he will come around no doubt, i just hope it's sooner rather than later

no, seto needs to be able to create on his own. Playing with elite or semi elite players isnt going to help do that. If he gets to ride on Joes wing hes going to turn into cheechoo. Mind you, cheech put up 28 goals playing with garbage line mates also. He needs to learn to this on his own and with various line mates or he will never turn into the winger the Sharks expect him to be.
