Is Demitra and Aleš Hemský virtually the same player?

Both play wing, both like to go for the pass.

There are more similarities between the two. Lets see what you think.

If they are so similar, who do you think is the better player

Demitra has accomplished more in his career point wise.

Hemsky is much younger and has more skill.

I think this should be a poll not a thread in this forum tbh.

They both have an e on the back of their jersey, how about that?

-Hemsky is more of a playmaker.
-Demitra more of a goal scorer that can play center.

Hemsky's highest finish in scoring so far was tied for 33rd. By the time he was 27, Demitra had been 10th and 15th overall. He missed almost half a season as well where he would have been top 15 again. There is no comparison.

Why do people keep on saying Hemsky is injury prone? This is his first major injury, otherwise he always seemed to play 65-80 games a season.

This is a little insulting to Hemsky if you ask me.

I'd take Hemsky over Demitra right now. However, Demitra was a better player than Hemsky at the same age.

Not really... Sorry..

St. Louis Blues Pavol Demitra (98-99 and 02-03) > Ales Hemsky any NHL season so far.

So its really not an insult by any means.

No one did.

Demitra in his prime years - miles ahead of Hemsky.

Demitra is at the downturn of his career though.

Demitra better in his prime. Hemsky better now and future obviously.

I hope one day Hemsky can be as good as Demitra. I think some people don't realize how good he was for a number of years.

If Hemsky ever reaches the level Demitra was at during his healthy prime, let's just say that Oiler fans will be thrilled beyond belief.

He hasn't even come close to it yet, though.

Hemsky is a 100 point, extremely durable, great two-way player who I'm sure has easily surpased Demitra's point totals in a season.

Quite obvious really.

Yes, 77(Career High) points in 81 games equals 100pt player.

Demitra's career high was 93 pts.

Hemsky is the better player now, hard to say who is better in their prime since Hemsky is still young.

He played 81 games in one season.

Otherwise, it's always 75 games or less.

I guess it's not major injuries, but he always seems to miss 10-15 games a year.

Exactly like Demitra.

maybe you should spend more time working on your sentence-verb agreement/verb tense than hurting your head pondering this nonsensical thread.
