I didn't get to see the match because there were no channels broadcasting it or working streams, but did Slovakia have a disallowed goal in the 2nd period?
Nope. The idiots working the scoreboard for the internet feed put up an extra goal because one of the commentators said something along the lines of "it could have been 8-2 at this point". They obviously weren't paying attention and thought that it was actually 8-2, so they put that score up for a minute or two, until it was corrected. Latvia had a goal go uncalled when it simply went in and out of the net too quickly for the refs to see. The replay showed that it did in fact go in, which would have made it 7-3 at that point. Don't know why they don't adjust the rules to have stuff like that not happen. The video judge could have easily called down at the next whistle and notified them of the error. Everyone watching at home saw it.
Emerics has screwed Latvia with his crappy play. Two games in a row with a goal allowed in the first forty seconds does not give your team a fighting chance. Kalnins was very solid in the last two periods (as was the entire team - they finally started to play hockey). Probably would have been a one goal game either way had he started. Sucks that Latvia had that goal go uncalled as well. And I agree with TheSwedishConnection about the crowd. It almost seemed like Latvia was playing a home game. Awesome.
I thought they started the wrong goalie vs. Canada. Looks like the wrong goalie is the #1.
