Although, both Stepan and Kreider look better than 2/3 of our NHL roster
I couldn't agree more with you--did you catch the game the other night. Both looked really good 2-3 years from now we will have one hell of a team--that is unless Sather becomes greedy thinking this years team can make a run.
Anyway, a lack of depth has obviously been a huge problem all season and when a top six player gets hurt it really exposes our lack of talent throughout the lineup.
It could have just as easily been Gaborik, and then the tanking idea starts to look a lot less impractical.
while this sucks, I'd bet to see just christensen in on 4th line c next game, with boyle bumped up to 3rd line lw like he was the other game and avery on the top line. If that works out we'll stick with that for a bit, if not a call up but I don't think its trade time just yet seeing as how we dont really have much to trade unless its stuff we want to keep around. I'm curious to see if avery-dubi-gabi works as well as xxx-prospal-gabi has been basically the whole season.
Hopefully the injury is minor. Prospal has been the most pleasant surprise this year. He is the glue that binds this team together.
My guess is that Christensen gets one more look (he has shown nothing), and maybe even Voros gets into the lineup one game. Other than that, Parenteau wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. (That would be Voros!)
Maybe Slats can bring Mueller here finally and rescue him from Phoenix where they try to win games 1-0 each night. So far they have pulled off that miracle. It won't last.
you mean like what the rangers try to do every night?
I'm not really worried. Gaborik will be fine without him. Prospal is a smart player that uses his teammates well, but take him away from Gaborik and he is below average and would not produce much. On the other hand take Prospal away from Gaborik and Gaborik will still produce.

Good point scooter but the fact remains that this team is thin as it is. Another veteran presence who actually provides to the team going down during a busy stretch in the season is some cause for concern, no?
