Maybe a week ago I would have said they could, but the Flyers have been playing well lately and tonight Carolina is beating Washington going into the third.
I could easily see them losing the next two home games, and possibly in Carolina as well.
It would be a huge missed opportunity, considering the schedule gets tough again starting on the 4th.
Maybe move Drury to wing? Have Boyle or Christiansen take over the third line center, maybe:

I would rather see Lisin get a chance on top line with Gabby and Dubi.
Is Lisin's foot healed up? If not, my concern is whether he'll be able to keep up for three periods.

since his foot has healed, hes been flying. hes played really well the last 3 games.
he played for a month with a broken foot. he took all of torts' abuse and kept working hard. hes healthy now and it shows in his foot speed. he flat out beats guys now.
hes the guy to get the look or perhaps avery.
all this talk of pap and ec and any other glorified ahl player is stupid. those 2, if they are dressed, belong on the 3rd and 4th lines getting minor minutes. period.
higgins belongs nowhere near the first line. period. he has shown a consistent ability to blow chances. hes not a goal scorer. hes a 3rd liner.
cally pretty much the same. not a first liner.
avery, although not a goal scorer really, has more goal scoring ability than those 2 above.

Could you explain how Ryan Callahan is cast aside as a nonfactor an then you go touting Enver Lisin for first line duties, a player that is significantly worse than Callahan is nearly every facet of the game of hockey?
Honestly this couldn't happen at a better time, it's been about 10 days since the players only meeting. If I am a Ranger I see this as my time to step up and play harder than ever.
Plus maybe somebody will really click with Gabby and Dubi, making Prospal a solid player on the second line to establish two legit lines
Anisimov has been kind of "meh" lately, IMO. He had that awesome goal against the Isles over a week ago and then disappeared again.
One of the reasons why he won't be used in the top 6, asides from the fact that Drury and Dubi are playing well, is that he is really struggling on faceoffs. I noticed in the game the other night that, when Arty's line had a faceoff in the defensive zone, Torts would replace Arty with Drury to take the faceoff, then immediately after the faceoff Arty would return.
I agree, Anisimov hasn't looked that great after the goal. I think we're overrating him a bit. He might be really good some day, but he hasn't really been a factor this season, and I don't think it has to do with his ice time.
Anisimov has good games and he has games where he's kind of invisible. It's not unexpected. The hope is that ratio starts to balance more and more towards the former as he gains more experience.
