The Angels are in Heaven

We beat Montreal without our two best players, including our captain.

We also were not called for a penalty.

Cause we played a boss of a second and third period after we left Leclaire out to dry in the first. Plus some Sens fans at the arena may have ****ed the refs so no penalties would be called against us.

I am so freaking proud of this team right now, we are missing key players and we are still winning hockey games. This is a different Ottawa Senators team the guys are sticking together they believe in each other, they don't quit on each other.

If Hartsburg were still coach of this team we would have said hello to Taylor Hall in June.

Can't see the pic.

Now I do damn that's what motivated the team.

2-0 without Alfie. Habs should have had a few powerplays but it's nice that the tables have turned for Ottawa for once.

Good game tonight by the Sens. They played a game worthy for Sens fans to be proud of. Despite being dominated in the first half of the first, Sens played a very strong game for the second half of that period and then dominated the Habs throughout the second and third periods.

I'm not blaming the referees tonight because honestly, the blown call on the Sens goal because Neil was standing in front of Halak makes up for all the missed calls on Sens penalties. That refused goal was by far, the most brutal mistake of the game. If this was many years ago, then yes, foot in the crease and the goal deserves to be waived off. But nowadays you need to make clear contact with the goaltender. The only contact made during the play was when Halak shoved Neil forward.

What can you do though. Sens still won, they played a great game tonight despite two of their best players and another solid secondary scoring player in Foligno. And damn, Leclaire was LIGHTS OUT for the Sens tonight.

Cheers guys. Have a great work week and a wonderful new year that comes in just a few days.

Big reason we won aside from the refs was Leclaire. He stood on his head tonight and if it wasn't for him the score would be much different.

Next I'd say offense was decent from such players as Kovalev who really wanted to get something going tonight. He didn't get any points but he played well. Shannon and Regin for stepping up to produce some goals. Fisher was also very good tonight and should have 2 points including the goal he got robbed of. He also set up some nice plays.

Campoli was good tonight and will probably get another chance against the Avalanche. Volchenkov saved a few bullets from hitting the net and was happy with his effort.

Really impressed with getting 2 wins with 2 of our best players out on injury along with Foligno. The Avalanche is going to be a much harder game to win against but I have faith we can pull another victory out this month.

Dang, I can't wait til we get Foligno back. If the guys keep playing this gritty kind of hockey and keep those halos of theirs on, he'll only make us a lot better.

The big difference between this year and last year is this team does not give up.

I thought Kovalev really stepped it up in the second half of the game, he made a sweet pass on the Fisher no goal

I was one of the biggest opponents of that contract, but if he plays like he has this year, I am happy to pay him 2M for his whole contract. He's been awesome this year.

... and we can break out of own zone, as well as send forecheckers into the opposing teams zone.

My thoughts exactly too. Hope you're right.

Cause we will all still be talking about that terrible game for months.
