And this year Fisher has spent more time with Kovalev and Alfredsson on his line than any other Sens. Kovalev put up 65 points last year, Alfredsson put up 74 points. Kesler's two most common linemates are Raymond and Samuelsson, who had 40 points and 23 points last year respectively. Kesler's linemates combined for 63 points. Fisher's linemates combined for 139 points (more than double). Yet Kesler has more points than Fisher this year (though his PPG is 0.04 worse).
Sorry, if you look at just the stats, Kesler is better (17 points better over the last 66 games). If you look at linemates, Kesler is still better, and it really isn't close.
And by the way, last year, Fisher played 25.84% of his even strength shifts with Shannon. He played 27.80% of his even strength shifts with Alfredsson. Basically, you don't even know your own team's players (or are intentionally misrepresenting them), so how can you expect to pass judgement on another team's players?
And there's a reason why Kesler is a lock and considered a key player on the US team. I have no doubt that he would also receive consideration for Team Canada if he were Canadian. He gets plenty of praise from players and coaches around the NHL too, by the way.
Do you honestly think Fisher wouldn't be a lock for team USA? Do you honestly think Kesler is better than Staal, Vinny, Morrow, etc.? Fisher is better now, by a real little bit though.
