His name sounds more like Korneeyev too.

The pronunciation is closer to Korneyev. The only real spelling is in Cyrillic though so there is no real way to write it in our alphabet (which is what I was getting at). Russian names often aren't written exactly how they're pronounced and there are sometimes different variations of a name when translated in our alphabet.

We don't need him, he can stay in Russia.

And if you go solely statswise, I doubt that a d-man that plays more than 23 minutes per game and is +12 this (while finishing +14 last year) proves that he's bad defensively. And we're not talking (this year) about that great of a team.
No 7th dman plays 23mins+ a game and is chosen for the olympics. Get your **** together Analyzer.

I could be wrong, but is it possible that Analyzer is talking about the Olympic team? That Korneev was chosen as 7th d-man of the Olympic team and will only be used for offensive situations on the Olympic team?

Yeah, well we should pronounce it "Kornyeyev" but writing it that way would be ugly as hell. Anyways its definitely not Korneev, thats a rather lazy transliteration since "e" in cyrillic =/= "e" in english or french.

Couldn't we add some pretty easily attainable bonuses? Say, 20 games played = $500,000, 40 games played = $1,000,000, etc?

Dude, no offense, but you really have no idea what you're talking about. Korneev is basically a KHL version of Markov.

He's quick on his feet, makes smart passes, sees the ice incredibly well, has a decent but underused shot, and plays good positional hockey. He's not going to throw any bone-crushing hits, but he's going to take the puck from you easily and make a great outlet pass.

Then again, this comment is coming from a fanbase who thinks Mark Streit is poor defensively who has proven he is more than adequate on the backend.
