With the Canadian junior team running absolutely roughshod so far and will most likely be gold winners again. Which adult men's Olympic teams could the Canadian juniors realistically beat?

They would get worked by every single one.

The mythical 2005 team that some posters like to pretend could have beaten NHL teams lost exhibition games to teams from the CIS.

I'd like to see a game against those CIS teams just after the tournament ended. After our boys have elevated their game, and come together as a team.

Just to see...

Most Canadian college hockey teams could take the Canadian Junior team.

Well, just to strengthen my point, look at when the world junior team was in Halifax.

That was a very good Team Canada. They took players off a few local CIS teams to make an allstar team to play the juniors, and based on my recollection, the games weren't even really close. Some of the CIS guys seemed to be taking it pretty easy on the juniors and it wasn't as if these guys had played together all season either.

Keep in mind when the WJC team plays CIS teams prior to the tournament they are merely exhibition games. In a true game no doubt in my mind the 2005 WJC team who give the worst NHL team at that time all they could handle, if not more. Remember this was the lockout. Players like Getzlaf, Bergeron, Phaneuf and perhaps Carter among others would have been in the NHL. Crosby was good enough to be in the NHL at that time even though he wasn't drafted. IMO that team would beat Norways men's Olympic team if they had to. And maybe a couple of other weaker countries as well.

As for the 2010 team. Hmm. They are strong as well but clearly a notch below the 2005 team. All of them failed to make NHL teams but then again the Norway team doesn't really have anyone good enough to be in the NHL either. It would be a fun game though. I think Canada finds a way to win.

I doubt that. Norway's players are playing in men's leagues, a bunch of them in the SEL. I suppose Canada *could* beat them, in one game..

The one thing people underestimate the most is just how awful a lot of these 18 and 19 year old junior goaltenders are relative to the ones these men's teams are used to playing against.

For instance, the starting goaltender for the 2005 team that some are claiming could have given an NHL team a tough game was Jeff Glass, who wasn't even a good AHL goaltender several years of development after that tournament. Put him against an NHL lineup and they would most likely just tee off on him to the tune of double-digit goals.
