I was at the Caps game the other night; the Canes are good when they're on, and they looked pretty good tonight. They'd be 10x better if Aaron Ward wasn't on that team...man he's awful.
Hey we should sign him as a FA......
again.... Anyway..Nice win.. HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE..
Yeah, you know, the one that got to the Eastern Conference Finals last year and are healthy now.
If you follow the team, there's no comparison between this year's team and last year's. JR didn't make a lot of moves this past offseason, but the ones he did make pretty much guaranteed us the first overall.
And while we're not healthy now (Corvo and Cole are out), health really has little to do with how this team plays. We could have had the lowest man-games lost this year and still would be struggling for wins. If there's such thing as anti-chemistry, the thing that makes players play like absolute **** when they're paired incorrectly, this team's full of it.
Good game yesterday. Now if you could go ahead and do this again on Saturday. Preferably as close as a repeat as possible. A nice low score while putting on a lot of shots. C. Ward needs all the help he can get, considering the team in front of him.

Really?
Are we at the point now where beating the 30th place team is something to be proud of?
How about we beat the Devils on the 12th, you know... a division rival and a team that's not in the running for Taylor Hall.
Never mind, we don't win at home.

Do you pay attention? Carolina has been playing decently and just got done handing the Capitals their a$$. In this salary cap era of mediocrity, beating anyone and not giving them a loser point is golden. What did you expect out of this team? A Cup? Or a team competing for a playoff spot? I picked the latter, so I'll take any win I can get and we thoroughly outplayed them last night.
I went out last night so I didn't catch this one... Just watched the highlights though. Good to see Christensen get a goal.
And Voros dropping Kostopoulus = WTF!?
yeah voros has finally learned to fight, so now we can get rid of brashear who doesnt fight anymore or do anything of use.
And i agree with you on the christensen part, it was really nice to see him score and he got an assisst on the GWG! He looked good up with dubi and gabby
Voros looks like he can handle the light heavies now. If he could stay away from stupid penalties, I'd actually like him to play more. Definitely has to improve the skating, but compared to Orr he looks like Eric Heiden out there.
He also is obviously well liked by his teammates and seems to keep them loose which is always a good thing especially when you're struggling.
Beating the Canes who have been playing well as of late is no small feat for
a team that just about played their worst game in years. The NHL season is
marathon not a race. a few weeks ago the Flyers were the "worst" team in hockey
according to analysts and their fans. Their fanbase wanted the team blown up
but now, they're super heroes going into the American Classic.
Nice to see Dubinsky scoring goals...hopefully he gets it that he's scoring them from in close in front of the net and starts focusing on that. He's got some real nice hands, but his straight out shot isn't quite good enough to be a sniper, so working in front of the net could be the way he ups his goal scoring

lot's of front runners here...
No it may not be a small feat, but the fact remains that this team can't score goals to save their lives. The defense has been suspect all season and occasionally shows up every once in a while, which is simply not enough. By the way, this is only the first game this whole year in which Lundqvist had to make under 22 saves (discounting the games in which he got pulled).
Since the Columbus game this team has scored 1.875 goals per game. Those are the kind of numbers you find with teams hoping for the #1 overall, not a team with any kind of aspirations

Neither actually, I don't think they're going to make the playoffs.
The spot they're in right now is mainly because of a huge break in the schedule where they were playing the lowest teams in the standings for a while.
Things start to get tough now and I think we'll know where this team stands at the end of January.
Points are points, but lets not get excited just because they decided to show up and were able to score 2 goals against the Hurricanes.
