Terrible post. Did you watch him? He may have had issues but he definitely always played hard.

Well, I just stopped in to say that GWG was lame. You hate to see a game end that way.

Join the club. Atlanta has been dealing with that for years. No sympathy from this fan base as far as that goes. You might as well just talk to a wall.

We ARE the Chicago Cubs of the NHL.....

Hedberg is the Bill Buckner of hockey.... I'll never forget the Avery goal in the playoff game off the glass.

Interesting comment by Anderson after the game that goalies are lots of times told to leave a glass shot alone on those clear ins because of unsure bounces. Makes sense to me....speaking of goalie coaches, how's Weeks doin for Pavs these days??? He ruined Kari, now it's Pavs.

Pitiful. Especially while Phil Myhre (goalie coach in Philadelphia) is painted on Pav's mask and Dan Bouchard lives in Atlanta and still coaches......But no, we still have Weeks.

but really, max did try hard for us. he was just the definition of someone who needed a change of scenery. gwg was garbage, i cringed a little for you guys when it happened whilst yelling for roy not to miss the open net. your team skates hard, they deserve better.

Well, I have a feeling that if we'd have won tonight, tomorrow would be a turdfest once again. Pumped with good feelings, Pavs back in net, team plays 3 minute egg and loses again.

I'm hoping with this one, they come out even more determined and more pissed off and maybe we leave NY with 3 of 4 instead of just 2 pts.?

Ah, probably just a pipe dream.

Buffalo did not deserve those 2 pts. Plain and simple. Just awful.

Sucks to see a game end like that, from either side.
This.

Max didn't fit the system and needed a change. Was great when we went run and gun but in a puck possession system, he sucks.

Glad to see him enjoying some success again.

Sabres fan coming in peace.

Watched the whole game and we've played pretty bad. If you play like today the rest of the season, there will be no problem for atlanta making the playoffs.

Atlanta is going to be a playoff team this season, book it.

please Salmela is 100x better than what we have in the botton pairing.

this streak needs to end tonight

If we keep losing and our staff is not fired i would lose all hope in making the playoffs not only this seasdon but the next 3 seasons too.

Ya almost got it right. Why the booing ? Max would never listen to Lindy Ruff and would try to take on the entire opposing team himself. He'd try to stick-handle through an entire team and end up giving up the puck which lead to many scoring chances and goals for the opposition. When Ruff would scold him, he'd still do the dumb things and then get rightfully benched. He also refused to buy into Ruff's system, despite repeated benchings. All of this happened after the first post-lockout season. He game went to crap after that for some reason. He was basically horrible for two seasons and we couldn't GIVE him away. Thankfully, his contract was up at that point. Nobody but Atlanta took a flyer on him - that should tell you something. Finally, a team gives him a chance to play, with similar, offense-first players. I guess it's worked out for him in Atlanta. But just wait, you'll see what happens and will soon be tearing your hair out from the stupid, peel-back into his own zone plays that he makes. That and the giveaways.

Now, why do we boo Briere ? No answer on that one. Drury ? Cuz he effed us and didn't take the same amount of money that the Rangers offered. Oh, and we don't boo Marty Biron. How could anybody hate that guy ?

exactly.

You'd expect someone who has sat so much to come out busting tail to get to every puck and man in his coverage situation. Slater may not be worthy of his first round pick, but he can never be faulted for lack of hustle. Sally Mae stood around on both the second and third goals and I believe he got to watch from the bench instead of the ice the rest of the night.

And probably why he wasn't on his country's list of Olympic invitees. There aren't many Finnish defensemen in the NHL, after their top 4.

Kubina's ugly give away cost us the most tho. It seemed like a punch to the nuts on the boys and the momentum shifted from that point and our defense started backing up again from that point on.

x2.

I actually thought he deserved more playing time over Boris when he came off the IR. But he was caught just watching those 2 goals go in. Boris may take some dumb penalties but he throws his weight around which is what we need a little more of.

Anssi will probably be watching tonight. Let's just hope the rest of the team doesn't join him.

And I definitely want Slater to stay in the lineup. His hustle created so many chances last night and he makes a big spark on that line.

Sadly, its getting towards the point where this just isn't going to be good enough. The east is tighter than a frog's bum and 1 point isn't going to do it for much longer. The boys have got to start getting some wins, preferably in regulation.

You couldn't be more wrong, Max gave 100% on every shift. He was battling injuries, and was consistenly thrown into Lindy's dog house; he was the whipping boy. He got into a funk and needed a change of scenary.

Max is a good player. You can question his consistency, but you can't question his effort. I would cheer max; I miss him in the blue and gold...=/

Max won the Atlanta Thrasher Fanclub Player of the Month award for November. The fans here love him.

The Atlanta fans have a better than recognized knowledge of what's going on...

Afinogenov has worked his butt off down here so far.

The fans here also know that Bogosian doesn't belong on this year's Olympic team. There was a funny arguement on the thread about the US team with everyone saying Bogo should go and all the Thrash fans saying, O NO to BOGO!

Funny to have Buffalo fans spill over to argue Mad Max over here, but you are certainly welcomed!
