Just got off work and was able to catch the replay on Center Ice.

Quick is Puck Magnet. Some of the pile ups at the end were outrageous.

Richardson easily best forward on the ice all game.

Doughty and JJ played a good solid physical shutdown game.

Smyth/Kopi/Brown is a nice combo as well as most the line combination's this game looked good. Going to be interesting to see
Stoll back whenever that might be.

Solid game against one of the leagues power house teams

Go Kings!

That's a lot of man-lovin'. Gonna be quite a bit of Semin to clean up.

Someone suggested he was hurt when he went awkwardly in to the boards during a game early last month. Who knows, but he is not anywhere near 100%

Get well SOON!
I have to agree. I tried to watch him closely especially when he had to skate hard coming back on the backcheck and his stride looks nothing like it did at the beginning of the season. He is skating very straight up, and when he does bend at the waist and try to dig hard, he seems to be really laboring and uncomfortable.

No way he is 100% right now.

On a side note I thought Quick was just outstanding today. So big in the net, so calm, and yes so quick flashing the leg pads in making tough saves look almost routine. I was also impressed with Moller today. While he wasn't a star or even close to being one, that little bugger is fearless.

So...

I'm a big fan of these current lines. Where does Stoll fit into when he gets back? I wouldn't want to break up the Parse-Richardson-Simmonds line so...will it be Fro-Stoll-Zeus ?

Bluntly, Kopitar sits.

No joke. Stoll take over the 1st line center position.

I would give Kopi a rest.

I know it would never happen. Way too ballsy but hey, you asked

So why play him then? You think he is hiding the injury, not telling the coach? Also, his stride looked just fine on that play that Diane nailed him. He was flying.

I don't know man. I believe that the simplest explanation is usually the right one. I am not buying injury. I just think he is playing uninspired and scared hockey. He has taken a couple of really big hits and he is not going to the center of the ice and into the high percentage areas. Kopitar played an edgy and dangerous game, which is what you must play with a coach like Murray. That is why Smyth has been so damn successful. That is why Simmonds thrives. That is why Dustin Brown plays his best game, when he plays like this. Same with Stoll and now Richardson. One of the best examples is Handzus. These players are having success because they go to the front, keep their feet moving and don't hang around in the perimeter. There was one play today where Kopitar had the puck and skating it over the blue line. He had a lane to the goal. He was parallel with the defender. Early in the season, he goes to the front of the net. For 1/2 of November and all of December and now today, he skates to the corner.

That's not an injury.

That's just a lack of will.

I was at the game, didn't hear it and don't care. When he gives the money back (and you all know how I feel about AEG and their money) maybe, unlikely, but maybe, I'll consider forgiving that jerk for his pisspoor play and comments made later.

As for the game:

B.R. (not JR) was the news. He is quietly performing at almost a point a game in his last 14 games. His play at both ends was truly inspiring. His Line generates at both ends. I take back everything bad I might ever have said.

JQ is our #1 Goalie. He is so good and showed it today on several phenomal saves late in the game. The one on Semin (or as David Courtney pronounced it at the game Sea-men!) was the best.

Both Smyth and Simmonds are regaining form, with Night Train just a tad behind.

Zus was a god today in both ends and Congrats on leading the team in GWG.

Brown played well defensively and set the tone early with 3 hits in his first shift.

Kopitar is stil not on, although he played better as the game went on, but on several shifts early in the game he really didnt look to be skating that hard defensively. He needs to get it going full out right and away and let that carry through the game.

I thought Parse also played well although he missed an assignment that lead to a quality chance in the first, but he played well enough. I think he sticks.

I am stil perplexed seeing Ivannans on the ice at all, and especially after good cycles in the offensive zone I think he kills momentum.

Overall, a great game to watch nad a necessary Game for the Kings to show the fans and themselves that they are for real.

Edit add: Doughty is, IMHO, a real candidate for the Norris this season.

Go KINGS GO!!!

Ther was some idot next to me (well next to Jr.) who kept yelling "hit em" during the 5 on 3. I looked at him and said "and get out of position. They are playing it exactly the way they should." Honestly it was textbook. Sticks in the passing lanes, Scuds going to one knee to block the flip pass to the front. pressure toward the puck from the closest man. It was PERFECT!

And as JDM mentioned, It sparked the full house crowd.

Did anybody fetch any cheese for Ovechkin to go with his constant whine?

Right... the problem is, Stoll is hurt. You can't even think about sitting Kopitar if he is hurt and can still play until Stoll returns.

Yeah in his rookie year, Ivanans barely had any ice time with Kopitar in the last two years.

So going by the Brad Richardson era of last year, Ivanans had two goals, more than Richardson's zero

On the Ice for those goals.

Goal 1 Against CBJ: 5, 6, 8, 32, 41, 54- Don't see Kopitar there
Goal 2 Against PHX: 8, 27, 28, 32, 41, 61- Look no Kopitar.

Look you have to see that Richardson's first time was fricken awful with LA and it's not just because of Raitis Ivanans or anyone else you can blame it on, yes he may not have received the minutes he's getting now, and he had his injuries last year. There is no way you can blame Ivanans coaches or anything else for his lack of scoring. Just like Teddy Purcell when you're playing poor and pucks aren't going in you shouldn't receive ice time.

January 30th 2008-December 1st 2009, the length between Brad Richardson scoring an NHL goal. Not Ivanans' fault.

I don't think he was flying at all today. His skating stride was not good at all today. We may never know if he is hurt or not, but I have a feeling that he is nursing some type of nagging injury that he is playing through and is finding out what the difference is between being hurt and being injured. Right now the kid looks like he is hurting to me, but everyone will have their own opinion on that.

Great game. That's how I like it Rough and tough hockey and goalies stepping up for their teams. Very clutch win by LA. Now... To keep up this fine play in San Jose. I will be sitting less than 20 away from our boys cheering them on while being surrounded by turquoise. Here's to another two points on Monday... GO KINGS!
