It's not because they had to know about the time change before the game was set in stone. It was changed to 1:00 regardless of who was in the first game.

Not necessarily. If the 4:00 pm game was US/Switzerland, they may have left the Sens game at 3:00, so fans could get home before the Canada game.

It was done a few days ago, because I remember looking at the schedule and thinking it was an error, or was changed without a press release. It was done before they knew Canada was playing at 4.

They probably did it with the thought in mind that Canada could have a game at 4, but knew that it would be too late to change the Flyers game by the time they were certain. So maybe they moved it as a preemptive move?

Most likely scenario, considering they should have already known Canada would be there anyways

Great GDT as usual, MSE! We're so lucky to have you!

I'm hoping to see the team continue their good defensive play, but a little better finish would be great!

LET'S GO FLYERS!
I hope that Comcast would fight against any schedule change due to an event that virtually no one in the Philadelphia area knows is even going on, let alone has the ability to watch on television.

EDIT: Oh, the Eagles game is at 4 and wasn't that moved with flex scheduling? That would make sense for the change.

Considering the game is in Ottawa, I think they'd have the first vote.

Is the game on CSN? Why is there no pregame coverage?

It always helps to get the first goal but I sense this game that could be more important coming off the Winter Classic.

The Daily News update said the arena was near-empty. I wonder if the time change was more recent and not as publicized?

I'm betting Roo has a few fans in the stands today, unless Gatineau is playing this afternoon.
