If not for Miller, the game would have been totally different. Missing Kostitsyn hurt.

But i saw words like "effortless" thrown around here...i would save those for the games we win 2-1 and our goalie makes 50 saves.
lol then I'd rather an "effortless" game with two points than a moral victory from playing well.

I hope the goal horn at the Bell Center still works. Must be getting real dusty after all this time.

I can't believe you guys are blaming Price. He stopped a 2-on-0 breakaway and Grier's breakaway too. Yes, Miller was better but Price played well enough to win. A lot of our little guys were losing battles along the boards and the Sabres played a good defensive road game. We didn't get that much traffic in front of Miller, and he only had to make some good saves at the end of the 3rd period.

I hope Martin puts Price in against Washington. I hate the "L" statistics because Price didn't deserve that loss. He got us 3 points against Washington so far.

So what? Price should have been able to tie the game...

Sending Pacs down is about giving him a chance to develop and is completely independent of who else is on the team imo.

Habs really didn't play that badly. They just ran into the best goalie in the league who was on top of his game. They had their chances but Miller stood on his head. It happens.

Max Pac has brick hands. Him on the 1st line is laughable. I know Metro's a centre, but I would have double shifted him. Habs really don't have any top 6 depth. Hopefully Gainey can make a move soon.

If someone doesn't give Ryan Miller the Vezina right now, I don't know who would be worthy.

* Price was very good.
* Pacioretty had a good few shifts, but after that was lost.
* The 2nd line is still forming chemistry but they need to take some of the heat if the first line can't produce.
* D'Agostini, like Patches, had a good start but was bad down the stretch.
* Mara had a decent first game back, but I hate that pairing of him/Gill.
* Hamrlik is still a stud.
* Our defense is a lot better than before, but we need to score.
* Laraque is absolutely atrocious.
* Bergeron needs to shoot more. FFS.

it's funny the way 80% of fans either don't think goaltending "counts" for a team, or get incredibly obsessive over goaltending to the point of missing the big picture (Halak fanboys ragging on Price for 1-0 loss).

i dont know why the habs seem to stink it up against the Sabres but todays game was a prime example as to why the Habs dont want to meet this team in the playoffs.....

Not sure why some call it a snore fest. i thought it was a very well played game by both teams. Had Montreal capitalized on it's chances early, I'm sure no one here would be calling it a snore fest.

Although I like Paciorety, Plekanec has not been the same in his last two games without A. Kostitsyn at his side. Just goes to prove that if you're not a Malkin or Crosby type player, most centres in this league need two scoring wingers to be successful.

Hopefully the brothers K will be back for Washington.

Spacek shot like my lil brother :/

and why they don't pass it more to Markov?

The game plan should have been:
Get the puck
Markov on ice?
Pass to him
Markov shoots
Rebound
Find the puck
Pass to Markov
Markov shoots
Miller stops it
Win playoff
Pass to Markov

etc
Pass to Markov
etc...

I agree with you but would like to add that the 2nd line needs to shoot more, I find they pass up to many shooting chances looking for the pretty or perfect play.

Mediocre team as i was saying this week. They can beat the weaker teams but can't beat the playoff teams. It's the same old story over and over again.
Todays excuse R Miller was great ! Woopdy doo ! What will Tuesdays excuse be ?

Just saying the Sabres are 1 injury away of falling in the standings pretty damn fast...

This is an exact copy paste of the 90's Sabres with Hasek winning games on his own while the offense scored 2 goals on 3 scoring chances.

The Sabres as a team shut down the Habs offense and Miller made the saves when he had too..I fail to see where Miller stole this game by himself..He made the key saves when he had too but I was a total team effort from the Sabres..
