If Oregon doesn't have the kick return success it did, this game is probably more like 26-6, Seriously, if its one thing I can point to say "what the hell Bucks?" It was the Return Defense, that returner for Oregon gained probably more Return yards than the rest of the team got total....

This stat line is nice...

Masoli: 9-20, 81 yards, 1 rush TD, 1 INT

The defense really never let them get in sync and without the aforementioned return yards, Oregon doesn't put up many points in this game...

Kudos to Tressel fo finally taking the training wheels off Pryor... It seemed like he was shaking Oregon Linebackers and Secondary players all night.
Really felt like a coming out party for Pryor towards the end. Hopefully he continues to mature over the off season and has that monster year he is built for.

Congrats to the Buckeyes on a well deserved victory. I'm glad they could actually win a bowl game during my 4 years at OSU.

I love the bad karma for Oregon. Suspend Blount = right thing. Predictably bring him back for the bowl game and seeing him fumble any chance they had at the end = priceless.

AFC race- 7 teams for two wild card spots.
-NY Jets
-Denver (edit- eliminated with loss to KC)
-Baltimore (clinched Wild Card)
-Pittsburgh (edit- eliminated with Baltimore win)
-Houston
-Jacksonville (edit- eliminated with loss to Cleveland)
-Miami (edit- eliminated with Houston win)

As of now, if the early game scores stay the same, we'll be down to 4. CLEVELAND is going to play spoiler to Jacksonville, Miami's losing to Pittsburgh & Houston's behind New England. Pittsburgh would win, while the Ravens & Broncos play late games & the Jets play tonight on NBC.

Ravens & Jets are "win and you're in" teams. For any Steeler fans on the board, they need the following to clinch:

1. PIT win + HOU loss/tie + NYJ loss/tie, OR …
2. PIT win + HOU loss/tie + BAL loss/tie, OR …
3. PIT win + NYJ loss/tie + BAL loss/tie + DEN loss/tie

Houston's come out of nowhere to take the lead over the Pats with under 2 to play in that game. 21 points in the 4th.

Steelers' road just got tougher. Houston wins 34-27.

Jets, Ravens, AND Broncos must lose.

Doesn't seem likely. I had hopes going into today, biut the truth is the team almost followed suit again today in giving up late points. Not sure it's deserving of a playoff spot.

Bully to Browns fans. Not sure what to think there. You'd like to think that Mangini is proving his worth, the team looks like a real NFL team - but I have hated them for so long...

With the way the season started, its a miracle.

We CANNOT let Cribbs or Harrison get away...oh and Anderson definitely is not the answer at QB (as if we didnt know that already).

I'm actually looking forward to next season.

Bengals have a whopping 7 yards of offense in the first half against the Jets.

Imagine what a twelfth team would do for this conference though....

Georgia Tech is pretty one dimensional, Iowa had the right schemes to shut them down... If it was Iowa playing 'Bama, Texas, Florida or Boise State, I wouldn't have that much confidence...

Big Ten got a real favorable matchup with this one...

Good for Iowa though and its good for the Big Ten....

I think the Big 10 has a decent argument of being the deepest conference this year, now that all is pretty much said and done. I think Florida and Alabama would beat any Big 10 team, but beyond that the SEC was mediocre this year. Pac 10 looked impressive in the regular season, but got exposed in bowls (hey, that’s the same criteria the Big 10 has been beaten up with). Big 12 was Texas (who I think could be beaten by Big 10 teams) and no one. ACC and Big East got some wins here and there, but their biggest teams lost bad.

Meanwhile, the Big 10 had seven bowl teams, four 10+ win teams, four bowl wins (all of which I believe they were underdogs in, though Iowa, I’m not sure about) over the Pac 10 champ, ACC champ, SEC #3 and ACC #3. Even the three bowl losses were close games decided at the end -- no blowouts. Also likely will end the year with three teams in the top 10 and a fourth in the top 20.

The only other overall conference performance that is worth discussing, IMO, is the Mountain West, which went 4-1 in bowls, while racking up some impressive non-conference wins during the season. Will end the year with three 10+ win teams, all of which will be ranked. Good year.

I wouldn’t call the Big 10 “back” (one year does not a rebound make) but this year, I think it ultimately proved to be the deepest. Wonder if the national media will notice?

Anybody else not feel for Josh Cribbs. Guy signs a 6 year contract then wants out of it because he decides he isn't being paid enough.

Sign a shorter contract next time.

I'm with you, but that's not the way it's working in today's sports world. (Are you sure you're not secretly old?)

I'm as old as I feel, and today that's really old

But a lot has to do with the NFL and their non guaranteed contracts. The argument from everybody here is the team can terminate a contract at any time so why shouldn't the player be able to...

I guess that's why I like the NHL better. Teams are stuck with players like Wade Redden because they have to pay, but then you never hear of an NHL player wanting to renegotiate.

Employers in all field retain rights that are not available to employees.

I don't think NFL contracts can be terminated at any time - they become guaranteed at a certain time during each season and the team is obligated until the end of the year. They're not guaranteed from year to year, though, so those long, multi-year committments are not as they appear. I'm not a fan of contract renegotiation, but I'm also not looking to permit pay cuts for underpreforming, either. And the Brownies would have more candidates for that than for raises!

No sympathy for this guy, You're a return man, nothing more.... When the best player on your team can't do anything else consistently, then you've got problems.

The Browns would gain some points in my book if they just let this guy whine.

The problem is aforementioned, he's the best player on the team.... or the most productive....

Yeah, He cleaned out his locker....

What could you reasonably get for him? Where would he go where he would be worth more than a 4th rounder?
