Nino Niederreiter is a beast.

Unbelievable win by the Swiss.

Amazing job by the Swiss, it's so nice to see some of the fringe teams stepping up. Bodes well for the future.

It might be better for them, but looking at the tournament as a whole, one reason Canada has won the tournament 5 years in a row is because other national programs have taken a step back. Slovakia is doing what Sweden was doing 8-10 years ago. Both the Czechs and Slovaks are fighting to stay out of relegation. This all coincides with the re-emergence of Sweden who were in that boat.

The gold medal game should be a great game, but the US scares the hell out of me. Especially with Canada missing one of the top defenders. They were lucky as hell to get out of the New Years Eve game with a win.

I'm worried about this one but at least Canada won't be using that ineffective power play set-up that led to 2 American shorties on New Year's Eve. I'm not very confident in Desjardins as coach, he reminds me too much of Stevens with his lack of fiery demeanor although he did scream at them yesterday which is a definite plus. But being without Hamonic is going to be a problem for Canada as Desjardins is obviously not confident with his 7th dman. The Americans must feel really confident and are not going to have the pressure on them the Canadians will.

not shocked the Russians lost.
They simply are not that good. Didnt they lose to that same Latvia team that lost 16-0 to Canada?
Anyway US/Canada again. Canada better be ready to play cant see the US losing if Canada doesnt play a much better hockey game.

Nikita Filatov proved Ken Hitchcock was right by the way. Dude lights it up in the KHL, and then dogs it in the WJC's. I was talking about that on the main board, and it's hilarious some of the excuses they came up with. He dominated the tournament last year in what was probably a better overall group of talent within the tournament.

You aren't a Yank. You're from Jersey. If anything, you are some sort of situation or something.

It's extra awesome whenever America wins something that no American even knew was up for grabs in the first place.

Come on buddy. The tournament was held in the beautiful metropolis of Timmins, Ontario. Seriously, google it. Middle of absolutely nowhere.

Timmins? That sounds like an effeminate butler who touched his employer's children in a very inappropriate manner.

Canada will have to answer for that sin one day.

Also, when in Ireland, I was talking to the locals about North America. Here is an exact quote: The Canadians are a beautiful people but do they have to be so ****ing boring?
