Payne wants his captain. I would suspect we'll be sending down Army. If he clears.

Armstrong or Winchester must be going.

I vote for the latter, personally.

I thought Armstrong was here for Kariya, and Stastny is here for Tkachuk.

Seems to mean Winchester is scratched again (or Janssen I guess). At least Winchester is falling out of favor apparently. I wonder if Eller had been healthy if he might have gotten the call up.

Even though there are injuries triggering these moves, it probably helps Payne implement his system when a couple guys like Armstrong/Stastny who are familiar with it can be here.

I do think Winchester's days are numbered.

Yes, Stastny was called up to replace Tkachuk if Walt can't go Wed night. Agreed that this looks like they would rather risk Stastny on waivers than simply insert Winchester into the lineup...not a good sign for Brad.

Player movement should be interesting when King, Kariya and Walt are ready to return from their injuries.

Davis Payne, the Blues new head coach knows Yan Stastny very well. He afterall opted to name him captain of the Rivermen when he was head coach there and maybe this is just showing people how he wants them to play.

This also could be that Tkachuk isn’t going to be ready to play after taking a puck to the face last game against Chicago. But why wouldn’t they just insert Winchester?

Its not really clear, but he's missed a couple games. Best I can tell is an arm injury or something? Hopefully nothing to do with his shoulder....that would be awful news. Maybe someone that follows Peoria closely can clarify.
