Speaking of which, I wonder if Reigning King got laid at the xmas party.

But back on topic, did anyone see the play live? I may have to rewind.

I hate Blake. I was hoping it was him when that goal was scored in the third. And it was. Happy Friggin New Year!

I'm going to watch this game again at 11. I didn't watch half of because I was too nervous.

you mean live as in "live," or live as in LIVE?

the hit didn't look too out of the ordinary, but it was solid. when he went to make the pass, he was all upright with his shoulders shrugged and kind of made the pass all awkward - wristed from the torso like he was trying to avoid his arm falling off.

Post game report up on http://lakingsnews.com

A snippet:

Quote:
Drew Doughty led the Kings to victory with 4 assists, good for 1st star of the game and some extra square footage in the already large portion of fansí hearts reserved for him. The true star of this game, however, was Jonathan Quick. The recent USA Olympic Team selection stopped 45 of 47 useless shots by the San Jose Sharks, only giving up 3rd period shut-out-ruining goals to Douglas Murray and Patrick Marleau. Thatís all that will be said about anything the Sharks did right, since by that time Murray put the only stain on this magnificent victory, the Kings had already won the game.
Pardon me....

**** YES!

Drewiske has been getting smoked all season long. Man's nickname is "big and soft".

So do we get AHL all star Voynov or Andrew Campbell?

I wish. Murray probably still thinks Harrold is an NHL defenseman.

I love being on the giving end of these kind of games. Hate being on the losing end, but tonight's game was like the Globetrotters and the Washington Generals. We deserved to get our ***** kicked.

I don't think the play was all that fast but the Sharks were just standing still tonight. Even the Marleau penalty throwing the stick .... could have just made two strides and handed Boyle his stick but instead was stuck with his feet planted. Just a sign of how poorly they played. All teams, even good ones have these kind of games but the choker tag this team hung around its neck puts an even bigger spotlight on effort.

Not taking away anything from the Kings performance tonight. They moved the puck really well on the PP and when the score hit +4 played a smart road game. The shot differential was meaningless really.

The Kings have a really solid team. Rockin strong defense. Love Simmonds play. He seems like he scores every game against us. Handzus really strengthens the team up the middle and Quick has been a real find. I am going to be curious to see if Lombardi pulls the trigger on a trade for a veteran player this season at the deadline, or stands pat. I think the team has enough chemistry to get deep into the playoffs just because of the backline and goal. If I were him, I'd leave the team alone this year and let it develop and learn together in the P/Os. I'll say this: If the Kings and Sharks face each other in the playoffs, the Kings aren't going to feel like underdogs.

Pretty sure the answer all season long has been Martinez and will be again if Jones is still out....

Sharks fans are some of the classiest in the league, aren't they boys? If only Blake wasn't your captain. I would like to go back to liking SJ again.

It's interesting that when one team is flying, the other looks like they are standing still.

The fact that Drewiske takes the big hits to make the right plays is a testament to him being anything but soft. Now, the smart ones learn to get out of the way eventually...
