A 15$ stick sux... get a one piece at 50$. I saw some decent sticks @Costco at 50$.

Do yourself a favour and get yourself a helmet at the least. A visor at least would be a good idea as well. Some idiots flail sticks around kind of wildly

My first set of cheap stuff taught me a lesson. If you land on your tailbone with crap pants you will upgrade immediately

Buy the rest of the gear when you're ready to play on a team in an indoor surface.
I went with the following :
Koho wood stick 15$
6oz puck 2$
Easton 12" Gloves 50$
Bauer Supreme Skates 60$
Rolls of tape 6$

I took a size too small for my gloves, so I will exchange them for a 13" pair this afternoon. I wanted to go for a pair of shinguards, but I saw that the price was for one piece. Maybe I can find a pair in a used stuff store.

Good start. Gloves, stick, skates are bare minimum obviously if you're just looking to skate around and shoot some pucks. If you get into some games of shinny I think you'll find after one game that a pair of shin/knee pads will come in handy and maybe even some elbow pads too - I did this last winter and found out that while I could still skate, I was a bit awkward and fell a lot in the beginning when trying to make sharp turns and such.

Cosom hockey league

Hey guys, just want to know your opinions on NSA cosom league? I heard bad comments about the guy 2 years ago, so want to know what about now?

Do you have still other options as a cosom hockey league IN MONTREAL?

Thanks!

Ours is in Lasalle: www.LSHL.net, starts Jan 17th, there's a few guys from HF that play there. It's a small league under 8-16 teams but we have some nice features like video replays and a nice scoreboard and tons of stats, check it out.

OT : Cosom hockey league looking for 4 teams

Hi everyone,

I run a cosom hockey league on sundays in Montreal and we are looking for 4 more teams to start our 2nd season. The league was created last september with 11 teams and we now have 20 teams registered out of a maximum of 24. There will be 3 categories of 8 teams.

We have a website (french only for now) www.hockeyghl.com and stats/standings are always updated within 48 hours of your game time. Trophies are awarded to top players at each position + more. We also have an All star game and skills comp. where you can win free seasons and more.

Composite sticks and slapshots are allowed and there is no mandatory equipment.

We play at cegep Marie-Victorin and Complexe Henri-Bourassa (Elite only), both located in Montreal-North/RDP. We have electronic scoreboards which guarantees you will get to play 2 periods of 25 minutes.

For any additional information, please visit hockeyghl.com and look for my phone # under "Contact". My name is Stephan.

Thank you

Does anyone live near the st michel area and have any clue whether the Habs outdoor rink at parc francois perrault is open... is the ice condition playable? Every rink in the city seems finished but maybe i'm thinking since this is artificial ice from what i've heard it might be open!!! Thanks!!!

Most of the arenas in the Montreal area have "garage" leagues using their ice. Talk to players or referees and they will direct you to the most suitable ones for your skills.

Not knowing where you live or your skill set makes it hard to comment in detail.

hey everyone.
i am planning on moving to MTL this fall, i live in a very small city in the US, so there's not much here in terms of hockey. but in MTL are there adult beginner leagues/lessons or something similar? basically i'm looking to get started playing (just for fun), i've never been involved in any kind of organized hockey before, only played around on frozen ponds in my youth

Desperately need a ball hockey player for 7PM tonight! We play in lasalle. All you need is a black shirt, gloves and a stick. Let me know if you want to play! The game will be done by 8, so you'll be able to see half the Canada game anyway...

please?

Joueurs Players

Looking for a few reliable ball hockey players for this spring.

Looking for “Natural” goal scorers, guys who can put the ball in the net, but are also defensively responsible. I am looking for guys with an EXCELLENT attitude. The IDEAL situation, would be 3 buddies that already play together to insert themselves in the team. We are a pretty recent team, and it will be “blown” up.

This is not Gym or cosom hockey but in arenas etc.

If you are interested, ideally would like to get practices in early March.

Please feel free to contact me.
