As someone with disc problems, I would go with him just thinking it's soreness. In my experience, my back almost always feels tight and it's just something I deal with on most days. Once in a while though, I do something that just triggers a flare up - like shoveling that damn snow a few weeks back - and suddenly I can't walk anymore. I would guess it was something similar with Parent, normal stiffness and then suddenly it got real bad that day.
I have the same problem it friggin sucks, i hope ryan recovers soon, its such a damn shame hes always hurt..
But at Monday’s practice, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren was quick to say that wasn’t the case.
Asked to clarify if rumors of surgery for Parent were true, he said, simply, “No.”
Holmgren was tight-lipped on the matter and declined to elaborate further, stating again that Parent is day-to-day. He would not confirm whether the “back spasms” the media had learned of days ago were what Parent has been experiencing.
When asked whether the injury was severe, again, he said, “No,” adding only that there are plans for Parent to visit another doctor.
“He’s seeing a doctor [Tuesday], and we’ll go from there,” Holmgren said.
This is accurate. There was some concern that the injury would follow him his whole career.
If it really is a disc problem then I imagine it would. That said, if it puts him out a week or two each season it won't be the worst thing in the world.
Homer has no poker face. Which is odd, because his face lacks most of the muscles necessary to display any type of emotion.
Great point, I never even thought about that before. Holmgren makes no actual expressions, but for some reason, it's always pretty obvious when he's lying.
How's Marshall doing this year? I haven't heard much of anything on him.
I havent followed him that much this season but I know alot of people are still high on him. if Syvret or Bartulis can get a look no reason why Marshall cant.
Mr.Seravalli said during the chat today that Parent's back injury is serious. He may need surgery, and that could put him out of action for the rest of the season. Bad news for him.
Defenseman Ryan Parent (back) did not skate again yesterday. There is no timetable for his return. He has not skated with the team since Dec. 26 in Carolina. *

Marshall was hurt at points this season. He and Bourdon have appeared to be pretty raw at the AHL level.
It's not that they haven't performed well, it's that they're on a VERY thin AHL team.
