Anyone up for making a GDT? We'll ultimately have to close this thread over 1000 posts and I'd hate to cut off the post-game/tourney discussion.

Hahah, gotcha.

And yes, someone please make a GDT! Or else we'll have to settle for a lame GDT, like the kind Jon makes when we're in a funk.

GO CANADA!!!!!!!!!!

I'm excited to watch our prospects on team USA, but I'll definitely be rooting against them.

That arena is going to be a madhouse.

Stepan interview was just him talking about how he is excited, again, to play Canada in front of their crazy crowd. Says so far it's the WJC has been a lot of fun. Says he knows a lot of the kids on the U.S. team already, so it wasn't so hard adjusting. Then talks about college and a few of his teammates there.

Says he hasn't talked with the Rangers the whole time, so I guess Messier didn't go and talk to him about how awesome it is playing for the Rangers while he was there

Stepan has impressed me very much with his patience, awareness, and smart hockey sense. That pass he made to D'Amigo for the crushing goal against Sweden was a "thing of beauty" (to quote Joe M.) I definitely think hell be NHL bound, but im worried if he has enough speed for the NHL. He plays an extremely smart game and its almost as if he plays the angles and jumps on the other kids mistakes more than a skill game. Not that he isn't a skilled player, but you get the idea. I think when he gets to the AHL level it will be ok, but at the NHL level all the players are smart, quick and deceptive... but this is all a learning process. You never can really tell how a players assets will translate to a higher level of play.

Time will tell.

Previous page, bro.

It's a good article though. Awesome to hear that Stepan has emerged as a leader.

I'm gonna root for the underdog Swiss to beat the far superior Swedish team. No beef with the Swedes, I was just there and it's a lovely place, but I just want to root for underdogs. More memorable this way.

Oh, and LGUSA!

We all should be doing this anyway, because if both Sweden and Canada win tonight, the USA is going to be in a ridiculously difficult grop during the preliminary stages of the WJC next year.

He's got hockey IQ through the roof so I don't think his lack of gamebreaking speed will effect him. Hate to use Drury as an example but look at him, he is an average skater at best, he and Stepan are probably on par in terms of skating but that never really hurt Drury.

Stepan obviously has more offensive skill then Drury which will also further help him.

Listening to some of these Canadian players now, Eberle sounds EXTREMELY overconfident

Is there a stream or something for tonight's game? I'd love to watch it.

I'll be watching from a stream as well, I'll be sure to post the link here as soon as I get one. If I forget, just send me a PM so I'll remember.
