This Canadian team is a lot weaker than it has been in years. Part of that is the number of players they lost to the NHL this year (8 or 9 I believe?), but a bigger part is the players that were selected to the team. Skillwise, they're fine. But outside of a couple of players, they lacked a sense of team play and a definite lack of heart. Their trip to the gold medal game was easy, outside of the New Years Eve game. That was the only time they had a gut check moment, and they were lucky to come out of that game with a win.

The US team exposed Canada's weaknesses and their coaches developed a game plan to take full advantage of them.

While a handful of NHL'ers on Team Canada might have made a difference, their absence is not why the US won the gold.

He is, but we were lucky to be able to flip Eminger for him. The initial trade was like being punched in the stomach, since the Caps took the guy I wanted at that pick.

Yes he is. And for 3 or 4 times the cost of Carlson's contract.

I have only watched bits and pieces of SportsCenter this morning, but haven't seen anything about the WJC. Did anyone who watched the whole thing see anything about this? If they didn't say anything about this it would be a huge injustice not only to Team USA but to the sport of hockey itself.

To sacrifice your principals once is to sacrifice them forever.

Haha. I'm not too worried. She's into watching the Flyers because I made her learn all about the team (past and present), she just wasn't feeling the WJC because she didn't know who the people were. Watched the New Year's Eve game and she just wasn't about it. We watched There Will Be Blood instead, so it wasn't all lost.

And you have multiple STDs in the form of children that have ruined your life and have caused happiness to run from you like Mexicans from Immigration Officials.

Nah, my kids are great. Even their boyfriends are terrific, other than the hockey teams they choose to support.

That's like saying:
