Exactly. Why can't people just leave the damn goalie controversary alone????

That said... I think through no fault of Price's, this is now a 1a/1b situation. If Halak can wrestle the job away from him, he should be allowed to do so. And if he does, I'd seriously look at moving Price in the off season.
man..i am so with you on this... ive been with price since the begining... but its getting harder and harder, and god help me, ONE of them is gonna leave soon, and i just dont know who that is anymore, all i know is, we will get something pretty substantial for either one. so thats the good news, because it seems there both number 1's, and ill take a decent player any day to make this team better while still having a capable goalie doing it

Maybe they are sub .500 BECAUSE Halak plays them, he destroys them mentally.

Thanks for sticking that song in my head you bastidge.

I would have liked a few more goals considering how many shots we had. But overall I'm happy with the outcome.

Pouliot is playing 15:14/night (before tonight)

So far, it's about what I had figured it would be. A win for both teams.
Thanks Lucius. You are right, a win-win for everybody.

Nice game for Halak...

Should be a "fun" next couple of days here with all the Halak vs Price stuff that will surely come up...

I would like to send some big props to Hal Gill..Since he as returned from his injury he as played some solid defense for the Habs..It's just refreshing not seeing Hab fans whine about how bad Gill is..

He is a great goalie, but he has benefitted from a great defensive minded system.

If Halak has good luck, Price has the bad.

I don't want to give up on Price, he is still the better and younger goalie.

Halak has played well and has driven up his asking price in trade, although he has been playing the weaker sisters in the NHL.
Watch his record against poor teams vs Price's... Halak is doing better than Price.

The fact Halak is not playing the strong team is because Price is Martin's and also Gainey's man... I love Price's potential, but his attitude is very far from making me feel good about giving him the #1 spot and trading Halak away.

Well, Halak will need to get another shutout on Saturday because I can't see this team scoring more than 1 on Marty and the Devils.

I forgot about him in my post. Tonight was a pleasant surprise.

Here's the kicker;

Was it a surprise because he played well? Or was it a surprise because he's been so horrible that anything would be an improvement.

Couldn't agree more, friend. Let's play Halak against real teams, not creampuffs. If, then, he continues to excel, then I'll be the first one to eat crow. But so far, the little Slovak's done terribly against top-tier teams. His two games against Buffalo are nothing short of horrendous. So yeah, I agree ... let's test him ... really test him. Enough of these creampuff assignments. I'm all for it. Let's put Halak into the shooting galleries, where Ovech and Backstrom and Laich and Green are zig-zagging by him, through him, around him. These kinds of games will be the true tests, not games against teams where guys like Dvorak and Horton are the shooters. Were Halak to come through games against the Caps and Pens and teams like that, and still be as dominant as he is against these creampuff teams, uh, I'd applaud. Sure I would. Until then, though, Halak carries the "untested against real teams" label. Sorry. 38 shots...38888 shots...doesn't matter. Teams like Washington can score 5 goals on 8 shots, they're that good!...whereas creampuff teams will require 38 or more to score once.

Well, he was really bad before he went down with the injury, but it looks like he was really bad because of his injured leg AND because he was playing way too many minutes.

Now, he's got a limited role and plays very well... I'd like to see a little more physical play from him, but at his age, we can't really expect to change him.

full marks to the 3rd and 4th line tonight, they battled hard. Cammy looks like he's in a funk though.

What a BORRRRRING game. No energy in the building!! Sigh.

It seems like both teams kept missing the net....terrible.

Plekanec and Cammy are frail out there without Andrei. They miss him badly. Plekanec hasn't been the same for a few games now.
