I'm drunk as **** but in the morning I'll be sober. However, you people's taste in music will still largely suck.

Believe me, anyone that listens to metal has heard everything that Paul Masvidal/Sean Reinhert/Sean Malone has ever done...i hope... But sadly Cynic has recently started to attract a lot of non metal-ly fans within the past year or two who really don't know their past history and connections with bands like Death, Aghora and Gordian Knot.

As the back of the CD booklet says - "Sean Malone's second gordian knot project unites members of Cynic, King Crimson, Genesis and Fates Warning. On EMERGENT these icons of diverse genres weave a common fabric, forging a daring new direction for progressive rock and metal."

Cynic is one of those bands that came out with a crazy progressive death metal album back in the early 90s and it took them 15 years to come out with something again, and both albums are amazing. Most people were wondering where the hell they went haha. Downloading it now (Gordian Knot), woot.

Ultraspank - Slip

I REALLY wish I could find this on youtube, there isn't even a video with just a pic and the song.

The Knife song that I linked, looks like it was written partially for some kind of opera. I'd like to see them remix the song for an album.

The very same Robyn.

The Knife, in collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock, are to release the studio version of the opera 'Tomorrow, In A Year', on the 1st March 2010.

Commissioned by Danish performance group Hotel Pro Forma to write the music for their opera based on Charles Darwin and his book 'On the Origin of the Species', The Knife decided to make this a collaborative process, working with artists Mt. Sims and Planningtorock for the first time, to capture the huge width of the Darwin and evolution theme.
Many thanks.

Oh dont get me wrong, I love Cynic. It's just sad it took them a tour with Dream Theater and Opeth to get recognition They were so ahead of their time, if you find some old school videos on youtube they were touring with Cannibal Corpse... and being boo'ed off stage :/

I'm so drunk right now that this is what I'm listening to -

Oh and since im drunk... Whats your feelings on Metal Gear Solid 4? I just got a Ps3 for christmas and this was the first game i got since I loved MGS1 back when i was... 15 or something in '00.... I'm like 4 hours into it. so whats the man with the name from the game's feelings for it?

I'd say it's an amazing game in every sense. Story, characters, action, difficulty; everything is pretty much the way it should be. Just telling you now, even the ending I find is more emotional than any RPG I've ever played and SO many story twists, it's awesome. Pretty much nothing is left untouched and left unfinished, it's that good.

A Perfect Circle - Orestes.

Good ol' Wehrmacht!

"You got the beer?
We got the time!
You got the *white powder that people snorted when this song came out?*
Gimme a line!!!"

I beleive those guys are from here in Portland...

Now that I think about it, I might be thinking of Tankard... Off I go into Google land...

edit: I was right! Wehrmacht are from here in P-Town! I once ran sound for a "talent" show that one of the members of that band was a judge for.

I was never smitten with this record how I usually am with pop records that I like, but I never took it out of rotation and now I listen to it like an old t-shirt. I just sort of throw it on when I'm around the house and it feels right.

Haha wow that's pretty damn awesome! It's pretty crazy if you ever read what those guys are up to now. One became some trip hop DJ and Shann Mortimer, the bass player, is now a defense attorney in Portland for christ sake, haha.

Oh and since everyone is posting some metal...For fans of Celtic Frost and old school Netherlands metal scene like Asphyx and Gorefest. Try and not head bang to that...
