Carcillo fined for throat-slash gesture

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=305225

Didn't see it posted yet. This is just plain stupid. I sure hope Danny boy didn't hurt Colton Orr's feelings.

I want to find every Leafs fan who argued that Kadri's throat slashing gesture during the WJC was fine and totally harmless and see what they have to say now.

I'm surprised it took so long.

I was at a bar and saw him do it and I told everyone that I'm surprised that he didn't get a game misconduct.

I know very little about Kadri but there are days when I am tempted to change my screen name to KadriSucks.

The league doesn't tolerate throat slashing gestures, so I'm ok with the fine. Carcillo's been a good player for the Flyers in the last couple weeks, so I'd rather a meaningless fine than a suspension. It's $2,500; who cares?

The homeless person he beats to death with his bare hands in order to harvest organs to sell on the black market to cover the fine will.

...the real reason behind the fine was his goal, how dare Carcillo do that against an Original Six team?!...

I just find it hilarious what is deserving of a fine and what is not in today's NHL. Colton Orr had no other use in that game other than lumbering around looking for a fight. And, when he couldn't find a dance partner, he decided to run our captain. So, regardless of the amount of the fine, I just find it odd. What's next? A penalty for mother jokes.

I remember watching it as it happened and either JJ or Jonesy chuckled in mid-sentence, but surprisingly didn't mention it.

I won't be surprised in the least if they start censoring their on ice language on a massive scale. In fact I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. It's just the way things are headed. Protect the children, protect the children, blah blah blah. People don't really give a crap about the children, just their own image.

Erm...Kadri is kind of outside the NHL's control.

As to this...didn't see it during the game, but it's nice that even in one of his better games Carcillo does something to extend his reputation for stupid with the league. Whether you agree with the fine or not--you shouldn't be making that gesture to anyone--the fact of the matter is that Carcillo really needs to bring his rep down, not keep it where its at. Crap like this...keeps it where its at.

Big whoop. At least it's not a suspension like when he punched Matt Bradley.

yep he did after Cote whopped his ass twice in the same game.
I am ok with the fine, the league has always been consistant with this so its fine.
Carcillo needs to be better then this. stop acting like a jackass and just play hockey.
Cant wait for the Don Cherry rant on this

Not really a big deal I guess. Carcillo can afford it. I don't see a problem with what he did, but if the league wants to rid of actions like that then that is their decision.

That was Cote's finest moment.

Guys, it's a throat-slash gesture. It's been an offense in this league for a long time now. It's automatic or as close to automatic gets with the fools that run this league. It's not a big deal.

Well in a sense, yeah. But only because "being Carcillo" entails violating a league policy.
