NHL economic stimulus? ;-) (New shoulder pads 4 all)


NHL is waiting on approval from NHLPA for soft shoulder pads to be mandatory for next season. (As many players may still be wearing their shoulder pads from junior, and/or a long time ago, that'll be a nice chunk of $$ for outlay for ~50 players/organization.)

In a related (new equipment) thought.... A handful of Sharks players were wearing a new (unadorned w/logo) jersey at practice the last two days. Seems that new Rbk jersey is being tested. (Now whether this is game or practice jersey or what is unclear. I'll have to ask an equipment guy sometime about it.)

No chance. Besides, they players are right. Stuff like the seamless glass and boards with no give at all are much larger factors.
