If Laraque was in the lineup we would have won.

MAB is MAB we all know that, but Markov should not have been that deep... and should not have went for the corner. I don't pin this one on MAB.

Halak thought about going after that pass and came out of his net, realized he wasn't going to get to it and had to back up. A lucky break for NJ though but then that's NJ in a heartbeat isn't it.
Parise breaks his stick, goes to the bench and ends up with a ****ing breakaway.

Pleks played well tonight. Played with a lot of grit and emotion. In fact, I think the team overall played really well tonight. MAB wasn't great. Gill & Mara scared me at several points in the 3rd.

Oh well, we needed 3 out of 4 pts in these two games after losing two and we got'em.

Now, we get a 4 day break.

Let's see where we are in the standings when we play again next Thursday.

It sure was a great game!

One point is less than two but more than none.
Against the Devils and a prime Brodeur, I'd say that's a good point taken.

Still, I'd have liked the Habs to win that one.

Good night folks!

Laraque would have fought Brodeur and injured him for the rest of the night.

Blaming a 2-1 OT lost on the goalie is freakin' ridiculous.

I think that we Habs fans are starting to get spoiled by our great goalies, and except unending miracles out of them.

If the goalie only lets in 1 in regulation, and 2 in total, he almost certainly played a great game. At the very least, he's not the reason for the lost.

You can't expect a goalie to regularly win with a goal support of 1 or 2.

Why are people saying Halak was great?

I think people are getting oblivious and thinking cause it went to OT against the Devils it was because of Halak...it wasn't.

Neither team was great, the game was fast paced but both teams were so tight in the defensive zone neither could penetrate and score. Montreal had better opportunities than NJ.

My wife said it best tonight, she said Halak plays like a girl in a cat fight...he is always clawing at the puck and twisting and turning. Why is that superb and great tonight???

We got beat by a great goalie in Broduer, the confidence he has is crazy and the way he was handling the puck one handed with fore-checkers on him was insane!

Price can be a Broduer.

The first goal too. It was a weak one, but Markov let him go.

So many people are sheltering Markov... You do know even Lidstrom, Bourque, Orr, etc had bad games, so the General will have one too ?

And if he had score he would have won the Norris trophy that night.

Seriously ... he took a chance, and he failed.

That's it.

What ? It's called trying to win in OT. I see you have not gone anywhere near a hockey bench.

Another loss against another good team...what else is new.

Although this was one of the better perfomances.

Team played quite well especially in the first 2 periods.

Halak made up for the soft goal in the third.

Secondary scoring...hello? ANYONE?

The first one was extremely weak and that's why I'm not saying he had an incredible game...

But, come on, break away against Zack ****ing Parise... stoppable or not, i never blame the goalie on that, Halak or Price.

That's precisely my point. Yet people justify giving the net to Halak "because he wins and Price doesn't".

Lapierre may need a night off in the pressbox and maybe bring up Pyatt again and let Pyatt and White show him they are ready to step up to the big club. Lapierre is best when he is hounding and aggravating his opponent but he is not doing that right now.

The players on both sides change, the coaches come and go, heck even Brodeur was injured last year and yet the one constant remains: The Devils beat us every single time (aside from 07-08) and usually in the most excruciating ways possible.

Getting 1 point against them is parade worthy with our history against them.

When Markov was in that deep, MAB should have automatically dropped back....it's OT, Markov was going for it.

You did see how wide open Parise was?

2 softies in a 2-1 game says otherwise. He was merely ok. Made a couple really good saves, but at the same time allowed a couple of bad goals.
