agreed. Halak was good tonight but if the offense was any sharper on all those chances, we could have won this game. Both goalies have made the saves needed. We should be letting them off for the occasional softies.

i look at this way, we went into a game against NJ one game over .500, we came out of it a game over .500. Great. Halak let it in two goals, but got us a point with only one goal of support. Very good. That the price fan boys are complaining is a testament of the new standard Halak is setting. The expectation is that he'll get a shutout every game and anything that deviates from that (you know, letting in a goal or two), is now deemed poor. Good for Halak for setting excellence as the benchmark. Tough act to follow.

I'm not blaming this one on the goalie, but lets be realistic. If Price was in net he would be hung from the rafters in the Bell Centre tonight for not stopping that!

Well....nothing? We are at the spot we should be for various reasons. We will most likely beat the teams we've beat, and lose against top teams. Everything else is a bonus.

It's not another loss against another good team....it's against a much better team. Having 1 point against them it's borderline a win by 6 against any other team....

Yeah only because THE LUCKY ****ER went to the bench to get another stick.

I'm pretty satisfied with the way the team played tonight. Sucks not to win, but we got a point and played pretty evenly with a good hockey team. Not a boring game either.
I think a lot of people are just trying to show the other side of the story. I think Halak played a great game, almost identical to Price's game against the Devils, yet after Price's loss it was HIS fault that we lost the game. Price let in a bad goal, Halak let in a bad goal, they both played great for the remainder of the game, and then they both let in a goal on a breakaway.

You have to admit that plenty of Halak fans would've been all over Price for letting in the 1st goal and the goal against Parise, whereas they won't even discuss the goals now because Halak was in nets.

True, but Halak was playing way too deep and got beat by a bad angled backhand over the glove. Halak could have challenged Parise and he likely doesn't get a shot off.

Really? I take it missed his two awesome defensive plays where he flat out stole pucks, and a couple turnovers forced in the offensive zone.

Or how about the huge hit he had in the first period?

He took quite a few shots, was always skating hard when we lost the puck in the offensive zone, and again was going to the front of the net.

He needs to produce, but that was a step in the right direction.

At least Plekanec will be cheaper to sign if he doesn't start doing something without Andrei.

Also we are now tied with Ottawa for 7th but they have 2 games in hand.

Latendresse and Price are both different. Come on, Lats never dominated or ever won crap...Price has.

Fleury can be compared, Mason can be compared....why not Price?

Parise went back to the bench to get a new stick... It created a 4 on 3 for the habs. It wasn't a bad decision since the puck was very deep in the zone... But the Devils were very lucky on that one. And by the way, with Markov that deep, a forward should have been back too... so it's not solely his fault.

I have no idea why you're such a D'Agostini fan. The only thing I can say about him from his performance tonight is he was not noticeable. He didn't hurt the team. Really liked White, Patches worked hard.

Halak was great (except for that first goal).

NJ got a break, which is what NJ usually gets. Fortunately for us, it was in OT so we still got a point.

How can anyone call a breakaway goal to one of the best players in the game a softy? The first goal wasn't great -- I'll certainly give you that -- but this is ridiculous.

Keep your excuses for when he has a bad game. Too bad you wouldn't be able to detect the difference between a good and a bad goaltending performance if your life depended on it.

So if MAB made that exact same play as Markov did, would you say Markov should have been back or say MAB is a pee-wee, ECHLer with an NHL shot, MAB is drunk, blah blah blah. Markov is our best player but he goofed on that play.

Not stopping what? Parise? Come on....Not stopping the first goal, well surely, you'd be right. Weak as hell and Price would have been bashed till no ends. But stopping Parise on a breakaway, well we would have heard the " a game saving save that he didn't make..." but bashed as in being responsible, I don't believe it.

Yet, Price will ALWAYS be more bashed than Halak. We are talking about the promised god, the #5 overall against the # 291 or something like that. The Mr Nice guy against the guy with an attitude, and so on. Unless Price isn't a real god, he's dead in Montreal. Let's hope he becomes one.
