Very interesting... Most likely, one of their goalies has the flu or a slight injury, but you never know. A trade is possible, but it seems unlikely. The team has had a shake-up by firing the coach, so why not wait and see how they respond before attempting another shake-up with a trade?
Didn't Pang or Bernie mention the flu was going around the team? I remember one of them talking about a player or two having the flu during the last broadcast.
I'm sure both goalies practiced today and I haven't heard of anything new about them getting the flu. But then again, one could have just been fighting it, but they normally serve as back up in that case.
Either way this is good news, let Bishop face some NHL caliber shots in practice and see the diffrence in flow of games to know what else needs to be worked on. ALSO, this must mean Payne liked what he saw in Bishop this year and must feel he has earned it. Even if he does backup, it is not like we pull our starter very often anyway.
Bishop has been recalled in place for Ty Conklin who is dealing an injury to his son and will join the Blues later on their western road trip..
Bishop, 23, has played 20 games with the Peoria Rivermen this season, holding a record of 12-6-2. With a very respectable 2.60 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
