Rangers Prospect Poll: #6

We had another clear winner in round 5, as Bobby Sanguinetti came in with over 62%.

The vote for the prospect to be added to the poll was:

Sauer: 8
Ryan Bourque: 6
Heineken: 4
Weise: 3
(Not sure why there's so little love for Beer on this forum.)

TOP PROSPECTS

1. D Michael Del Zotto
2. C Artem Anisimov
3. LW Evgeny Grachev
4. C Derek Stepan
5. D Bobby Sanguinetti

You first do the post, then the poll. You must've come here in the half a minute while I was putting up the poll. But you should see it now. If not, I can re-post the whole thing.

Ah, well Kreider for me. He and McDonagh are in pretty much interchangeable spots on the rankings as far as I'm concerned though.

Add Bourque.

I went with McD because he's a much more advanced player. He's done more in college than Kreider has. He's closer to playing in the NHL. He's also closer to being an impact player.

Yes, Kreider has more potential, but until I see him at least dominate college kids, it's too early to have him ahead of McD.

McD really hasn't "dominated" college either. Obviously he's ahead of Kreider in development, but being nearly two years older that's pretty much expected. I'll take Kreider's upside.

Add Bourque.

McDonagh. He and and Sanguinetti are the next top tier prospects to make the NHL. I love Kreider, but, he still has a ways to go in his development. Add Byers.

McDonagh. Add Beer (Heikkinen).

This voting is tough. We have a lot of good prospects. I like it.

McDonagh. Barely edges out Kreider because he's closer to being NHL ready. I'll need to see Kreider accomplish more at BC before I bump him up.

Add Heikkinen.

No Gilroy love?

He's in the NHL, playing solid defense for a rookie with the highest plus rating of any Rangers defenseman, and is averaging close to 18 minutes a game. He might be able to still develop his offense.

Based on HF rules, he is eligible, therefore he gets my vote.

McDonagh here, he could have gone earlier. If he can step into the A seamlessly at the end of his UW season and next year he should be higher. We'll see.

Add Weise, great 2nd year in the A as a 21yo.

I'm leaving Gilroy out of it, because I dont think I can compare him with other prospects.

I went with MD and next time I'll vote for Kreider.

IMO Kreider and McD should both have gone above Sangs due to higher ceilings. Kreider here, then McD.

Add Beer.
