It's the right move, Emery shouldn't be rushed now. Let's get him in tip top shape before putting him in there. Good call Lavi.

Is there any shot he's played well enough to be traded rather than just let go once Emery is fully ready?

We will see if he can keep up his performance, or at least end result of a win.

Emery (most likely) will need to be well-adjusted by the time the playoffs start, but points are still too important right now to be looking ahead. One game at a time.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe you can't trade him because he was waived? I swore I heard that somewhere before.
I'd keep playing him, he's been getting the W's. Keep riding him!

Unfortunately, that is correct, we have to hold onto him for a while before we can trade him.

It was brought up in the trade forum when I asked what his value was, haha.

Ahh Okay ha.
My question is, can he be sent down? I'm thinking he'd have to be waived, again.

Leighton totally deserves his place in the team at the moment. Sure he has looked like a fish out there in the net sometimes, jumping around, giving up rebounds, but at the end of the day, He is winning games.
Thats all that counts in the NHL. Wins! For the people who say he's a useless goaltender, he's not nhl standard. If he somehow took us to the playoffs, won every game and brought home lord stanley large mug, i couldn't give two ***** how the puck stays out of the net. (not saying he's good enough to do that)
But for people to say he's not good enough to keep this pace up. Sometimes things just fall into place, the defense is good enough to save his bacon. Maybe we should keep him in the net until he runs 3 bad games

Good. Best way to approach it is that as long as he keeps winning, he keeps getting starts.

Might as well start him...but even if he loses, don't start Emery against Toronto. I could just see one of their cement heads running Emery and re-injuring him.

Leighton's weird. How exactly does he keep making so many saves??
Boucher needs games too.

The defense is sweeping rebounds away and limiting quality chances in the first place.

Boucher will get plenty of games when he gets claimed by the Rangers or Kings when he gets waived.

Dare I say this is Stanley Cup contending defense? And I don't mean first/second round exit either.

It is on paper. They need to tighten things up, though. Look at the Ottawa and Pittsburgh games. They have taken some huge strides though.

You do! It was supposed to be before the season started and I think they're living up to the billing, despite all the endless grumbling about Coburn. Bart and Syvret have looked really good lately, and if Parent can get healthy, I really like their depth at D.
