They had dinner together the night prior to the game against the Sharks.

I'm sure they talk regularly.

You don't bail on a friend just because he made a career choice.

Do two adults stop being friends if a lawyer decided to go work for another firm? Come on now.

I think you're on to something. Heatley probably taught Spezza how to tear his MCL. We need phone records pronto.

How short people's memories are when Spezza in the offseason was talked with praise about what a leader he is and how he wouldn't bail on Ottawa following his press conference interview where he pretty much did not support anything Heatley did. Believe it or not but these guys are actually real people and not characters from a CW network TV show.

It's a random thought...you throw **** out there and see if there may be any truth to it. That's what these boards are for.

A lot of us have been part of organizations and when your friends go elsewhere (especially on bad terms) or the ship isn't headed in the right direction anymore, people's emotions are effected. He's what, 26 years old; of course he is going to feel dismayed at losing Grats, Emery and now Heatley. I'm not saying he would jump ship because Heatley did or tells him to but these things can have an cumulative effect on his state of mind....maybe

What has Spezza been doing since the injury? Has he just been sitting in the pressbox?

We have 7 games in Feb (all before the olympics), if Spezza could get a few of those in then it would be huge

Clouston said 2 - 3 weeks, but to not shot him if he's wrong. Spezza could come back a little earlier, or maybe a little later.

WOOO!

edit: oops someone already said it... oh well

Doesn't apply to back-to-back games.

The rule is in place to try and gain a level playing field. So teams like New York have to go stay in a hotel the night before even if they are playing in Newark, or Long Island.

What are you guys even talking about? He's JOINING the team on the road trip, but likely will not be ready to play for another two weeks. It will be good for him to get pumped and be around the team, and hopefully return to practice soon. It's a little early to be talking about him playing though.

Hopefully he healed from his back ailment as well. I'm not sure what was wrong with that, anyone know?

Think it was discomfort more than anything, nothing serious. But aside from the actual injury, I think he'll be really motivated and ready to go for the second half and make a big impact on the team as they make a playoff push. We're gonna see a really fierce side of Spezza and I can't wait for him to shutup all the freaking morons who constantly bash him. The guy has alot of to prove.

On another note, does anyone know Alfie's status?

It would be awesome if he came back in the same game as Spezza.

I miss 1st line players.
